NIGHTWATCH NSX3 9900lm 21700 LED Flashlight NS53A 6500K 9900lm

That's sounds like every hot rod light I have so not really a big deal. I never leave them on turbo more than 10 seconds anyway. Just enough time to show off to my wife is all I need.

I wonder if Neal ran out of NS53As because they were so much more popular than the NS53 and is simply selling the NS53 as the NS53A now. I donā€™t know of anyone who bought the 53 version over the 53A so thereā€™s no way to verify if this is indeed a new, upgraded NS53 as M4D M4X said or the same old one that has always been on sale.

If it is the same old NS53 that has always been on sale, why didnā€™t they just add an A to the box to sell the illusion?

If itā€™s indeed a new version of the NS53 which is meant to replace the NS53A, why is there no clarification on the website?

It looks like thereā€™s 3 of us in this thread who ordered an NS53A and paid the extra $4-5 and received the NS53

This is what the driver of the NS53A looks like from Nealā€™s site and also what was sent to me. Mine does not look like this.

This is a photo from banggood which only sells the NS23 and NS43, the drivers look like this

And this (in the background)

Vinh tested the NSX3 at 8000 lumens. I tested the XP-L HI version of the E07 from 7000-7500 lumens so itā€™s just a bit brighter but the XP-L HI beam and tint on the E07 is way better than the XHP50.2. The TM9K is an interesting light but I think the XP-L2 also have tint shift problems but itā€™s got USB-C recharge but lack of tail standing. The TM9K is a tempting light for sure.

I just got the NSX3 3 x XHP 50.2, with driver VnX4 and Vinh measured 9,000 turn-on lumens. 30 seconds: 8,000 lumens and 375 meters, 35Kcd.

Small white room ceiling bounce to my eyes shows no discernible brightness difference between this and the TM9Kvn with small boost that Vinh measured 30 seconds 9,120 lumens and 297 meters.

The NSX3 3 x XHP 50.2 appears to have a moderately broad hotspot, the TM9K appears to have a very, very broad hotspot, if the term 'hotspot" can be used at all. The NSX3 has a little bit more throw.

Tint: tint is highly subjective, so I will only state that I see nothing notable about the tint of either light.

Similarities: Both share same cell, very similar weight, length, body and head diameter, rear switch location and very similar max output. Both lights provide astonishing output for lights in this size classification.

Differences: Reflector configuration, depth of cooling fins, and method of charging the cell.

Can't decide? Get both! :)

Anyone have the sustained ā€œHiā€ mode lumens? Itā€™s nice to wow people, but Iā€™m real world usage probably sustained ā€œHiā€ is still impressive?

I love my triple XHP50.2 NSX3! I wear the Helikon-Tex UTS shorts and it fits perfect in the front thigh AR15 pocket. For its small size it puts out an amazing amount of light! I will Duracoat it with skull stencils when I paint my Glocks to match. I am now waiting for the FW21 Pro to become available. 10k light in what looks to be a slightly smaller form. :+1:

I really like my NSX53 triple XHP 50.2 a lot. The only problem that I have with the NSX53 triple XHP50.2 is that I can not get any more of them. The supply has been zero for a few months now, and my fav light guy says that resupply is not yet in sight/unknown.

I have not yet posted in the Want To Buy section, nor have I yet posted a Recommend Me A Light post, to seek currently owned specimens, or alternative single cell 3 x XHP 50.2 with head diameter about 1.7 inch/43mm, because I am still holding onto hope that this light will reappear.

Thank you for the link. Availability: None, for a few months. :Crying:

Guys, I have a Samsung 40T but that is 30A.
Am I best to get a 30T which has 35A or does it not make a difference?
I have the Nightwatch coming soon BTW.

40T is what I have in my NSX53, as was recommended. One gives a little bit more peak performance, and the other one gives a little bit more run time. But the difference is not noticeable, either way is OK. By the way, where did you order from, and do they have any more ready to ship?

I ordered from NeilsGadgets but havenā€™t got a shipping number so I suppose he will be waiting on a load coming in before he ships. It doesnā€™t say out of stock anywhere but that doesnā€™t mean much with Neil.

I wish we, as a community, would crack down on these stupid Chinese putting out ā€œnext mode memoryā€ and other crap lights. Thatā€™s why I donā€™t buy anything without two switches or some kind of electronic switch to properly assign activation.

I am impressed from that light and want it :money_mouth_face: The problem is which model to choose XHP50.2 6500K or SST40-5000K, i preffer NW but xhp model have great WOW effect which is nice. But in practice I also need to have some bright and compact flood light with decent throw maybe around 200 meters which can deliver 2-3k lumens for longer time. The NSX seems to have good body heatsinking for that. I want to used it on my bike for MTB in nights in hot summer. Mybe I will make it my own driver with bistro. Also because I also waited for FW21pro or new triple Astrolux with XHP50.2 the reasonable choice maybe will be SST40 variant. What do you think about that?

I would take what I can, when I can, when I can still get it. I ordered four of these red hot screamers from my USA suppler a few months ago, received one, absolutely love its red hot screaminess, but the other three have not yet arrived. He told me I can receive a refund, but Iā€™m just politely and patiently waiting. When the other triple XHP 50.2 lights that you mention are ready to order, I will order them. Same with any other single 21700 triple XHP50.2 that may be offered.

I have the xhp50.2 version and while very impressive, it gets hot FAST

I never really paid attention to this light but looks like it would make a great host.

Anyone know the driver size?

I would avoid it. Parts are unobtainable, switch is a reverse clicky, the threads at the head are poor and grind constantly requiring cleaning and relubing often.

I wrote a review on this light here: Nightwatch NSX3 (NS53A version) Flashlight Review ā€“ Dave's Tech Reviews

The threads on mine are OK, especially at the tail. I lock it out at the tail end all the time and itā€™s fine. Iā€™ve only unscrewed the head end a couple of times to have a look.

Itā€™s thick and solidly built but Iā€™d prefer an e-switch version over the reverse clicky.

I have the NSX43 version and would love to buy the 53 version with 9,900 lumens because of the nice heat dissipation in a very small size. I donā€™t know any other light ( judging by the 6000 lumen NSX43) of similar size / head diameter that would maintain the highest output Of 6,000 lm for as long as this one does.
This is why I want the 9900 version also but here is my problem : there is a few things I hate about the light:

1) when you turn it on it starts with turbo and then toggles down to low- I think itā€™s ridiculous - you have to start with this blinding powerhouse just to get to the lower level. The sequence should start from the low and work its way up

2) Not possible to change any setting which might have been ok but the modes are spaced out so ridiculously - low and medium are too low ( less than 1000 lumens) and high is too high ( about 3.5-4,500 lumens) and turbo is 6000lm. Nothing in between; something sustainable like 1.5-2,000 lumens level would be nice. I donā€™t know what modes the 53 has but 4 levels only for a light that goes to 10,000 lumens has to be insufficient and spaced out wrong .

There is some other things subpar but If only they could change these two things I would spring to buy the NSX53.

Does anyone know how to contact the manufacturer or a dealer who can ask if these changes can be implemented?

Thanks
