Enogear AA Stainless Steel (AA/14500)

I bought the AA version quite awhile back. It failed with very minimal use. Asked for a warranty head, no support given. Not too happy about that

So is it the concensus of the group that the company no longer exists or is the website inaccessible from the US or what is the deal exactly? I purchased an enogear AA/14500 stainless used and it is an amazing light! I wish I could order more, I paid double the original asking price for the light and I still think it's worth it.

You are correct. It is a great little light. There were a few issues with it. It seemed pretty hit and miss. Some had issues with it not working with AA’s after running LiIon’s in them. Or was it vice versa. I didn’t have any of those issues but I know some did.

You are right, Enogear is no longer around. The man behind Enogear is still around though, he is now the man behind FireFlies.

I emailed him some time ago to ask about any remaining Stainless AA’s. I didn’t get any response and I didn’t pursue it any further.

I was able to buy some Enogears from Jack at Fireflies. It might take a few messages before he responds. I think he still stocks them.

Thank you. I will renew my quest. I just figured he didn’t have any because of the lack of reply. I only sent one email. I am use to dealing with Chinese sellers and it seems keeping my email near the top of their inbox sometimes helps with getting a reply.

Thanks gentlemen! I appreciate the information and I'll give it a try for sure. What currently produced light would you say is closest to the enogear AA/14500?

I don’t keep up with all the new lights but I find the DGQ slim AA to be a similarly great light.

This light (enogear aa/14500) has the most beautiful colored emitter I have ever seen. What emitter is it?

I think it was an XP-G2. Jack, the owner of Enogear and Fireflies, prefer rosy tint so this emitter is likely the Cree 5A or 5D tint bin, which means negative DUV or below the BBL. This is one of the most rosy tinted emitter I’ve seen.

So the key here is to remember that particular tint bin, which is 5A-5D. Thank you for your help. I really do love the color of this emitter. I wonder what the cri is?

The cri is just average (75?). The LEDs probably are 5a or 5d as SKV89 says, but my enogears were extremely rosy.

If you want the about the same tint and hi cri, you have to look for nichia 219b sw45k.

i bought it with 219C 2 years ago, my 7 y.o. doughter uses it now for bed reading.
Must be a good tint

It's a comforting tint.lol

Seems to be back with a Nichia 219B SW45k R9080 emitter.

Thank you!

Ordered one finally :slight_smile::slight_smile: :partying_face:

Thanks for noticing, ordered 2 in case they disappear again!

Was about to get two but then I looked through the other lights they had in the “other lights” section, couldn’t pass up a copper AA cube

It’s an excellent AA light. It’s great for gifting to muggles. Make sure you dont use 14500 with it or it will kill driver. I tried it.

Or…make sure you mod it to get a 14500 into it :smiling_imp:

I am curious to see if it will be modded or not, I will probably let it be as it is

Odd, I have one of the original ones that I have been able to use AA and 14500’s in without issue.

I almost ordered that one also!
