I enjoy candle mode, especially with the ‘orange silicone dog bowl’ shade(thanx for the link goshdogit) I did a runtime test in low candle mode starting with 30Qs@ 4.2v. After 21days – 24/7(total of 504 hours) the onboard voltage reported 3.4v.
I was amazed the LT1 only used .8 of a volt in 21days……… it took 4.5 hours to recharge back to 4.2……

Yes, I would really really like to have some of these lamps. Years have past since I first accepted these lamps. Multiple instances of lighting problems have passed into oblivion.

Yes, I could solder parts. But I will not. I will not accept multiple versions of a product lacking real detail from the vendor or attempts to solder. I used to do that sort of thing. I am old and I will not screw around with this lamp. If, as currently delivered, I just will not buy one until after all the screwing around. That is not what I wanted decrepit om the developers. Years have passed. I can (and have) respected the massive private work making these lanterns. And I have accepted the process. I have done this sort of development at levels way beyond the scope of this project. I got it.

It must work without a soldering iron.

Releases of manufacturing versions must be clearly defined with clear release version features.

Fact: it works fine without soldering anything. nobody is forcing you to use any tool to change anything. The only reason it was designed for the soldering bridges is for capable modders to modify it easier if they wanted more output at sacrificing run time, same goes for those wanting a fast charge only “modification” sure, we could have built this lantern with 3000 lumens, but a lantern that steps down and drains the cells in minutes is useless in retrospect for a lighting unit needed to be run at a constant level for hours & hours at a time. Same goes for the charging. we could have set that up to charge at 3 amps to satisfy the very few who want charging done in a couple hours. (but now if they decide to only have one low capacity or old battery in it, and shove 2 or 3 amps charging into it.. (i do not need to explain that risk.) Also if you don’t like the LT1, then do NOT buy one. it’s simple. Maybe some day a perfect-to-you lantern will be built for you, in the the mean time, just not buy this lantern if its not up to “your” standards or liking.

Without rambling again.

I just want two things. Full C implementation and identical device versions to pass around when needed. I have not purchased yet because the original distribution process caused purchases to span release versions.

I will wait for those criteria. That is all I want. It is my choice and in no way am I complaining about the team that designed this lantern.

New attachments or other improvements will be nice; and I will probably buy some of those at the same time.

I believe full USB-C implementation was discussed for a possible future version but not promised. You may be waiting indefinitely.

Loving my LT1, I never knew how much I would dig 2700k. I’d say I enjoy this light much more than I thought I would, and my expectations were pretty high to begin with. I’m anxiously awaiting the color options to purchase more lanterns.

I will definitely say that the LT1 out the box is the ultimate balance of run time and power for me, no mods needed. I love the fact that it is easily open to modding for my fellow BLFers that love to do so. There are lanterns that are twice the price of the LT1 and are pale in comparison. Waiting for the perfect lantern is like waiting for the perfect woman to come into your life, you’re really cheating yourself waiting for something that will never come. If there were a perfect lantern or a perfect flashlight we would all just have that one lantern and flashlight and there would be no need for this forum. Nothing in this world is perfect, not people and surely not things but you can surely get the best available for awhile.

AliExpress will probably have some deals, there might be a coupon for sofirnlight.com

Just ordered it from AliExpress for pretty much the exact same price as the GroupBuy. Thanks!

I’m sure there was a post mentioning that a limited quantity of LT1s had been added to the Aliexpress store, but I can’t find it now. The price had been $58 USD if memory serves but I passed because I have a Taotronics lantern already.
I checked again and the price is the “retail” price now so maybe the boat has sailed on the BLF discounts.

Um, so I didn’t think there had been any announcement about the arrival of colored versions? Anyone know what’s up?

Sofirn was selling some of the prototype green and gold colored versions they had made last year. I believe they have sold out now.

Those were a limited number of Bronze colored test versions, (along with a test bright green) they had them for sale on their site.

Not yet, I have had a shortage of free time due to illness, family problems, and financial problems to work on that more myself, unsure if others on the team had been doing any ideas for kit accessories.

UPDATE,March,7,2020-We got updates on the third production batch of LT1’s will be available for purchase in the end of March or early April. Colored versions are still unknown, due to the anodizing factory issues, a shortage of resources at this time.

My thoughts too. Sofirn doesn’t seem to have any trouble selling all they can make as is.

Is Sofirn going to release more coupon codes for those who requested more than one light?  My first was good for only a single unit.

I think that is the plan, as many of us have not fulfilled our GB buy numbers yet.

Oh, yes. I should have realized this as I remember they were being offered at their web store. Sorry for forgetting so quickly. Thanks to all who responded.

On January 9, I received a second code for “multiple” units through Amazon, but I let the code expire as by the end of January they seemed to be sold out and also out for New Years. I didn’t expect to receive another code from Sofirn as I did not quickly take advantage of the last one, but it would be nice of them to go back through those with multiple entries and make sure that they got the lights that they wanted.

I’m okay with whatever happens as I let my last code expire and that’s on me.

This is the original Prototype of LT1. Unfortunately, the last two were bought by me. They are out of stock. I hope more colors will be available in the future.

To who have the prototype, will be much appreciate if you share pictures of the prototypes in “Gold (DBSAR said it more like bronze)”, “Green” color

Why?……… Are those the colors that Sofrin plans to promote and eventually go with?
Has Sofrin not considered the poll and what colors folks might actually prefer? Maybe the preferred colors cannot be anodized?
I have a Black LT1 that I love and planned on buying a couple more if Flat Dark Earth and Olive Green were options.
If the Gold and Duck Puke Green are the colors……………. I’ll pass ……

It’s just a display to see how it looks, maybe some will be interested. Don’t worry. sofirn is going to fulfill the preferred colors, just a delay by the anodizing factory.

Duck Puke Green???? We definitely need photos. That sounds “tactical.” Why wasn’t it on the voting list? LOL. Actually, I’ll pass too. But Olive Green should be a winner.

Are we using LT1s as defensive lights now? Big Smile
