*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

Fact: it works fine without soldering anything. nobody is forcing you to use any tool to change anything. The only reason it was designed for the soldering bridges is for capable modders to modify it easier if they wanted more output at sacrificing run time, same goes for those wanting a fast charge only “modification” sure, we could have built this lantern with 3000 lumens, but a lantern that steps down and drains the cells in minutes is useless in retrospect for a lighting unit needed to be run at a constant level for hours & hours at a time. Same goes for the charging. we could have set that up to charge at 3 amps to satisfy the very few who want charging done in a couple hours. (but now if they decide to only have one low capacity or old battery in it, and shove 2 or 3 amps charging into it… (i do not need to explain that risk.) Also if you don’t like the LT1, then do NOT buy one. it’s simple. Maybe some day a perfect-to-you lantern will be built for you, in the the mean time, just not buy this lantern if its not up to “your” standards or liking.

Without rambling again.

I just want two things. Full C implementation and identical device versions to pass around when needed. I have not purchased yet because the original distribution process caused purchases to span release versions.

I will wait for those criteria. That is all I want. It is my choice and in no way am I complaining about the team that designed this lantern.

New attachments or other improvements will be nice; and I will probably buy some of those at the same time.

I believe full USB-C implementation was discussed for a possible future version but not promised. You may be waiting indefinitely.

Loving my LT1, I never knew how much I would dig 2700k. I’d say I enjoy this light much more than I thought I would, and my expectations were pretty high to begin with. I’m anxiously awaiting the color options to purchase more lanterns.

I will definitely say that the LT1 out the box is the ultimate balance of run time and power for me, no mods needed. I love the fact that it is easily open to modding for my fellow BLFers that love to do so. There are lanterns that are twice the price of the LT1 and are pale in comparison. Waiting for the perfect lantern is like waiting for the perfect woman to come into your life, you’re really cheating yourself waiting for something that will never come. If there were a perfect lantern or a perfect flashlight we would all just have that one lantern and flashlight and there would be no need for this forum. Nothing in this world is perfect, not people and surely not things but you can surely get the best available for awhile.

at last! A week affected by Wuhan pneumonia, finally received

I’m sure there was a post mentioning that a limited quantity of LT1s had been added to the Aliexpress store, but I can’t find it now. The price had been $58 USD if memory serves but I passed because I have a Taotronics lantern already.
I checked again and the price is the “retail” price now so maybe the boat has sailed on the BLF discounts.

Um, so I didn’t think there had been any announcement about the arrival of colored versions? Anyone know what’s up?

Sofirn was selling some of the prototype green and gold colored versions they had made last year. I believe they have sold out now.

Those were a limited number of Bronze colored test versions, (along with a test bright green) they had them for sale on their site.

Any news about accessories for the BLF LT1 ?

Not yet, I have had a shortage of free time due to illness, family problems, and financial problems to work on that more myself, unsure if others on the team had been doing any ideas for kit accessories.

UPDATE,March,7,2020-We got updates on the third production batch of LT1’s will be available for purchase in the end of March or early April. Colored versions are still unknown, due to the anodizing factory issues, a shortage of resources at this time.

Have these perchance been updated with a compliant C support?

Im just gonna assume no

My thoughts too. Sofirn doesn’t seem to have any trouble selling all they can make as is.

Is Sofirn going to release more coupon codes for those who requested more than one light? My first was good for only a single unit.

I think that is the plan, as many of us have not fulfilled our GB buy numbers yet.

Oh, yes. I should have realized this as I remember they were being offered at their web store. Sorry for forgetting so quickly. Thanks to all who responded.

On January 9, I received a second code for “multiple” units through Amazon, but I let the code expire as by the end of January they seemed to be sold out and also out for New Years. I didn’t expect to receive another code from Sofirn as I did not quickly take advantage of the last one, but it would be nice of them to go back through those with multiple entries and make sure that they got the lights that they wanted.

I’m okay with whatever happens as I let my last code expire and that’s on me.
