Infinitely variable is not a promised feature yet, but I still added you to the list as at least interested
The interest list is now at 268, and with still 153 from TLF the total is 421 flashlights.
Barry mailed me a week ago that he had missed my mail from january in which I sent a first suggestion-drawing of how the light structurally could be made, but that he passed it on to Sofirn’s engineers. I’m not sure when we will get an update under the current circumstances, I patiently wait for things to happen.
I have no idea about the current status of the project. I know that Barry is working and he posts on BLF every now and then, but how the design plans of Sofirn have changed because of the crisis I have no idea. I guess I need to mail Barry.
In for 1!
My first light was a Sunwayman V11R - still one of my favorites but I’ve grown away from the cool white LED.
Like others have mentioned before, as long as it’s packed well with certain types of grease the ring won’t really loosen up too bad and can always be repacked.
Sorry i haven’t followed the whole thread… and post #1 does not help much understanding where the project is now. Could you add updates to the first post?
There are no actual updates since the first post apart from that in January Sofirn asked for a draft of how the light should look like and so I made one for them. I decided not to post my draft because it will (of course, this is BLF ) generate lots of discussion on something that Sofirn may not use after all. So the next update will be when Sofirn confirms that they are actually started working on the design, with hopefully first design drawings.
Can you provide me a link of where to find the ipx7 or ipx8 usb-c port? I’m trying to convince a flashlight manufacturer to use usb-c instead of proprietary magnetic charging.
