Wich of these folder knives do you think that have the strongest blade and wich the strongest lock?.

Ganzo g710 better than enlan el04 (axis lock too)?.

Well, at the moment we have Enlan el01 and ganzo g710 like strongest knife from list.

Continue choosing please.

Honestly, it's not paranoia in the sense that I'm worried about it. It's more like I almost look forward to a spam thread. It's kinda sick, but those threads were "Bubbles" or "Candy" show up and start asking if we use our flashlights for camping are some of the most entertaining.

Strongest for things like this:

--- I don't recommend to do things like these with a folder, use fixed knife (better full tang). All locks can fail, ALL. Remember, your fingers could be angry with you after that! ---

--- But it's good to know the limit of a folder or wich are the strongest of a list even if you are carefully with your folders. ---

Yep, Ganzo 710 is axis lock. I don’t have the Enlan EL04. To tell the truth, Enlan is my least liked of the Chinese knives. I have about half a dozen of them and just find something wrong with every one of them. Navy seems to be the best designed line but many of their knives are direct copies of Spyderco or other knives.

I also like the Navy designs ( desing? ;-) ) which are very, very close to the Byrd and Syderco designs... but what I've seen so far their production quality is not on the same level as the SRM/Enlan overall. There might be exceptions to this, but as a general rule of thumb it seems that many have the same impression. Rougher surfaces and higher tolerances seem to be the main problem.

Yes, i always read that navy is a step down from srm/enlan/ganzo, even ganzo was a step down from srm/enlan but better than navy.

I have used the fixed blades from CS for years, and just recently picked up my first Cold Steel folders.

They seem to have a very sturdy lock mechanism in the Tri-Ad system.

Please let me know if you need some 'help' acquiring some...I'm more than happy to send you some at my cost.

EDC depot has decent shipping rates to Europe last time I checked.

Yes, the problem with buying knives from EE.UU to Europe are the customs. They stop all packages from EE.UU and uoy must pay big taxes. If you buy from China, customs don't stop it.

Well, there is a solution to that dilemma... take up Chicago's generous offer and pay him in 2 Paypal transactions. Make sure that each one stays under €22. (I assume the same rules for import taxes for Germany also apply for España since we are both EU) Let Chicago note the value of 1 payment on the outside of the envelope. And voilà ... a perfectly declared shipping from US-ESP.

get any of the bottom 4 - they are good for the price. sure you have to sharpen them more often than a higher end knife but so what , enjoy it. these types of knives are perfect for beating up, losing, abusing , whatever.

also i have the 704 - it is not bad for $20 at all , thick blade, locks up OK, overall better than not having a knife on you. And you can always step up to Spyderco etc , and better steels . they cost so much you just cant abuse them like these, but they are a thing of beauty. if you have to rely on a knife and its edge ...

pick the best looking one with an axis lock before i get on a spyderco rant

spyderco paramilitary 2 m390 ... mmmmmm

Yes but we mustn't forget the title of the post about opinions of wich of these folder knives have the strongest lock (tri ad lock and cold steel items aren't allowed). Still i don't keep in mind to buy a knife from EEUU. And yes, Germany and Spain are both in European Union but with very different political/social problems and i don't know if import laws are the same.

I must say that i have all folders on the list except the ganzo g704. The post wasn't thinked for buying one (i have all - 1), only for reading opinions from other users.

If you own all of those folders except the g704 then I am going to say that the EL08 is probably the toughest due to the framelock .

I don't own any framelock knives , my opinion was formed from others' experiences I have read about in knife forums .

I spend many many hours reading knives forums and i have read generally that axis lock is stronger than framelocks. I have 4 framelock knives and 3 axislock. The quality of how the lock was made is almost more important than the type of lock. Enlan el08 seems a beast of knife with its 184 gr and thick framelock with look up stabilizer.

The spine test could say something or the cold steel test hanging weights down to up for each one in the list.

22 EUR is the limit for duty-free import in Slovenia as well. Suggest you look up the Spanish Customs website.

Here, Customs don't care much for the value declared on the packaging slip (in fact, many HK sellers declare "gift"). If there is no official bill enclosed and they suspect a higher value, they'd ask for proof. For internet purchases, they are happy with a link to the seller's listing.

BTW, there seems to be quite a number of flashaholics among our Customs officials. Wink They seem to know pretty well which flashlight surpasses the price limit and which one doesn't.

Well Chicago would of course use it a day... so it would be used... German customs officers always want to see the bill or the Paypal invoice.

So how many you want? :davie:

Well I'm spending way too much money on outdoor gear lately and we have those stupid knife laws, where everything above 12 cm or 4.7" as soon it is a fixed or locking blade is forbidden to carry around in public. So many fixed knives I would like to own (and carry) are out of the picture. It is not as bad as in the UK, but I am more a folding knife collector/user myself anyways. I have only one knife on the "to acquire" list ... the Ontario Rat 1, because the Chinese budget knife manufacturers haven't gotten around to make a decent copy of it ... yet. Thanks for the generous offer of helping us "good prices"-handicapped Europeans out. I'll write you a PM as soon as I have figured out where to spend my hard earned money. ;-)
