Favorite copper EDC/keychain light?

Hi All,

Just curious what everyone’s favorite copper edc/keychain light is?

Definitely want to get one if I see a good deal or if someone is selling one at a good price.

Pure copper, high CRI, can fit on keys, takes aaa/10440/rechargeable.

Thanks!!

Reylight copper AAA twisty ( there is a newer clicky also)
I like the look of the twisty better

Also Maratac copper AAA

I don’t have any copper flashlight, but if I had and it was for my keychain, I would pick the RovyVon A9 for sure !

fwiw, none of the aaa lights Im suggesting use 10440 (I use eneloop), except the Reylight (it is sold out). There is a new version, it has no keychain connection

copper maratac is a personal favorite, however I would not buy the XP-G3 version

I like the copper tool from Drop.com even more. I would choose the 219c LED.

However, I do not carry lights on my keys, and especially not copper lights, because they are heavier than aluminium, and because I like to use my lights without all the keys on it.

The ability to clip on and off is useful though. Here is an example

For me a Keychain light would be a Photon Freedom but those do not come in High CRI, nor in copper.

other small copper lights to consider might be the Nitecore Tiny:

a well known copper aaa light with a quick release keychain feature is the Prometheus Beta (in the past made by lumintop, who also make the maratac, Tool, Worm and the Reylights)

Copper worms are NLA, the best deal imo is the Tool from drop.com, I suggest you grab a CuTool while they last.

Here are the Peak Eiger, Nitecores TIP and TINI. Only the Eiger will run on all of your mentioned batteries but the Nitecores are crazy bright.

nice selection
which of those are High CRI?

I agree the nitecores are non AAA, but they Are LiIon, and USB rechargeable… which can be very convenient.

I have avoided the nitecores because of the double buttons and accidental activation concerns. What are your thoughts on them?

that seems like a good option too, here is a link

One feature that only the Reylights have, is a sublumen low. I value that option, but some people dont use, want, or need, such a low level.

Sadly I let the Peak go recently. It was a Nichia 219b.
The TINI is better at not self activating due to a 2 second delay plus a mode that turns off after 30 seconds. Carried on a keychain for a while with no problems.
The TIP is nice because the battery is one of the largest (not sure of the correct term; capacity?). Probably twice that of most others. Don’t use it a lot but hardly ever have to charge it either.

copper $10 AAA from drop.com

it is pretty good for the money
unique ui, no memory, no flash or strobe, well made

though for keychain it is too heavy, i would not use copper for that

(the $10 price was a special but i have seen it again for that)

wle

yeah sorry I missed that Reylight pineapple twisty for $24 from banggood. That looked great and yes the new one doesn’t seem to have a key chain connection which I need.

the comparison pics are really helpful. thanks

which light was this for $10?

It’s this one, but there is/was a $20 coupon code for it. There is a thread dedicated to it: Drop.com $20 off - Lumintop Copper/Brass Tool for $10 - Discount not available as of 12/10/19

It does seem the nla pineapple mini has the features you want

maybe post a WTB ad here on BLF

also maybe post in the pineapple thread on drop

and maybe also ask this reviewer if he wants to sell you his

meanwhile, do yourself a favor, buy the CuTool from drop
and dont delay,
imo the price is still very reasonable
although fwiw, it definitely will not work w 10440, if thats really important to you… this is not the droid youre looking for

also, the switch will probably come on in your pocket.
one fix would be to use it as a twisty, and ignore the switch (leave it on at the tail, and use the head twist as the switching mechanism)

I also think the RovyVon Aurora A9 Copper might be to your liking, even though it is also not 10440… otoh the UI is more complicated, and has a type of memory (that I do not like)

otoh,… trits option!

what does everyone think of the Astrolux M03 copper or the Mecarmy Illumine X3S copper?
