*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

we are hoping the C-to-C will work with this updated batch.

Colors will be batch 4?

Is the $49.99 price as standard now or is it going to go up?

Yes, we plan to make colored version in batch 4. If colored LT1 lanterns are available, we will tell in the public.

We will consider it when LT1 restock.

There are old firmware and the lasted fireware in batch 3. If you want to get LT1 lantern with the latest firmware which supports USBC to USBC and USBA-USBC charging, please tell us in your order.

Actually, this forum is chock full of people that know how this stuff works. While many of us may merely be consumers, especially in regards to the LT1, this forum is built around modifying flashlights and designing/building them, often from scratch. ToyKeeper is indeed a professional programmer who has been the primary developer of major software projects used around the world, but that doesn’t mean that people here won’t have some good ideas that she can use to improve the open source firmware that operates our favorite lights.

Open Source means collaboration, not mere consumption. I hope that you learn more about Open Source and how it works. Even people that are not programmers can help out by testing software, reporting bugs accurately, and offering financial support.

One of the great injustices of Open Source is that the developers who voluntarily spend thousands of hours each year building “free” software are often then saddled with the further hassle and cost of delivering that software to users. This is especially true if their project has its own domain name and homepage.

Whenever I download anything from the Internet, the source pays the content delivery fees, not me. Consumers just pay to be connected; the sites offering the files pay the costs.

Please be nice to Open Source developers, as they don’t owe us anything, yet there are sometimes thousands of people criticizing them and demanding more features. I’m actually surprised that the GNU model is still successful after all these years, as it effectively trains end users to take it all for granted and to somehow believe that they don’t have to pay for “free” software :frowning: .

Well… our TK does claim to be a minor one… :innocent:

Usually only for comedic purposes… or occasionally when someone is being particularly pompous and needs a mirror to sort it out.

Thanks :+1:
Any idea if & when a version 2 will be in the pipeline?

New version that can be charged via TypeC charger is available but you need to leave message or we will send the old ones by default.

Since there are some old drivers left, we sell both LT1 with old driver and LT1 with new driver which is compatible with C-C charging (C-C charging cable & charger not included)

There are 2 versions on the web site (New-LT1-Alone-Black or New-LT1-Kit-Black).

Can you please explain the difference? And how to insure the latest firmware.

I forget what the firmware difference is (minor to me), but it fixes the biggest gripe of USB-C to USB-C charging protocols.

But which is which and what differences are there.

The one labelled New-LT-1 is the latest, with the C to C charging and latest firmware.

Back read a couple pages or 20 about the firmware changes, because it isn’t that new.

I ordered before the 3rd batch was split into different SKUs. I left a note on my order but I’m not sure if I will get the new firmware or not at this point.

There are four options under “size” category. I think they’ve just added the two (new) options, as when I did my order two days ago, there were only two options: LT1 alone and LT1 kit. I had to leave a message noting that I need the latest version.

Edit: First post, so hi guys!

They are both labeled LT1.

The newest ones have updated driver hardware to make it compatible with a few more USB-C chargers.

If I understand correctly, that is the only difference.

If you use the included charging cable (USB A to C), it doesn’t matter. With the included cable, it should work with any charger the cable fits into.

I’ve just received mine 2 weeks ago and i’m very happy with it and use it every day, I specially love reading a book in a dark room with a 2700k headlamp and using the Lighting storm mode paired with rain from https://asoftmurmur.com/ !!! 8) at least it’s not collecting dust like my useless and boring Q8. cheers:slight_smile:

Yes. But I still can not understand what the various versions are.

Can you not list the the actual information?

The answer continues to be information free.
