Any high quality storage cases for 8*18650?

Soshine Waterproof Battery Cases for 2 or 4 cells can be found at AliExpress, FastTech and even Walmart I believe.

?

Are the ones you using are pelican like cases?

I was gonna suggest Pelican 1010 with some custom cut foam

I have this Plano Box, I haven’t fit 18650’s into yet. When I get home tonight from work I’ll give it a try.
Plano makes a variety of boxes, I bought this shot shell box which is too short to hold protected 18650’s

You could look into a pelican case, those are too expensive for me though.

I have the cheap 8x18650 boxes and I’m happy with them.

If you want stronger, maybe a 25-cell box would do?

I have a Solarforce V2 case (6*18650) but it is discontinued.

In a supermarket (in Montevideo) I found some cases of the same format and similar measurements, they also fit 6*18650 but they do not have the foam.

I bought a bunch of these (not from this guy) and they’re pretty cool. Not waterproof but safe and not overly bulky.

I don’t like rigid boxes.
Nitecore NBM40 is the best because it’s made from silicone so it’s soft. You can throw it on the ground and it won’t damage batteries

Only means you ain’t throwing it hard enough. :stuck_out_tongue:

I got the 8-fers like up-top, with the little hooky-thingy on top. Look like LDPE and have some flex to ’em, but those kinds of cases, 9 times out of 10 when I get cells in ’em (in the mail), they’re cracked in one/more places, usually the corners.

I would warn against the powerpax. They look cool, but they eat my wraps up badly.

Thanks for the responses.

Unfortunately, none of those are enclosed 18650 dedicated storage boxes.

I'd like one in the OP but of higher quality.

Agro's don't look the same but it's something I probably would be okay with. Not sure if 18650 batteries fit well.

I'd prefer cases with dedicated slots for batteries. I can find many types of enclosed cases without any slots so they roll around. I also would prefer not using an extra kit like MoreLumens show.

So basically I'm looking for a unicorn :-D

Pity

Thanks for the help guys. If anyone know where to get them, please let me know.

I found some water tight small plastic containers at Dollar Tree . They are slightly longer then a 18650. I only have 4 extra cells but there is probably room for 6 in the container.

Much better quality then the dedicated one I got from Aliexpress and I think they were 3 for $1.00

AFAIK a regular 12 gauge shotgun shell has 18.5 x 76.2 mm. Should be close enough.

I'll have to keep searching locally. I e been thinking about possible lipstick storage cases. But so far no luck yet. Thanks for the ideas guys.

This is the Plano Box, model number 4648-1, 3440 , this box does not have internal separation ribs.
I am able to fit eight 18650 cells along the length, and six more stacked on top. (seven should fit)
The cells are loose in this box , when not full the cells will roll about.
Obliviously this box is not designed for 18650 cells, it is a utility box I was able to purchase at Walmart for under $5

I have an idea which I haven’t tried so I don’t know if it will work, This is a water bottle ice cube tray

I don’t know if the cells would fit in those cavities, but if they do cutting the tray to fit into the box would be a viable custom storage case.

I found a case similar to yours. Although it's stronger than the dedicated 18650 boxes, I don't think I'm liking it so much. Because of what you also said: they roll about when not full. Little sad nobody produces high quality storage cases for 8+ 18650 batteries.

3d print a divider for your case?

Here is someone who still sells the SOLARFORCE box. It says it fits 6*18650.
But it also says that 4*26650 fit in, so maybe some 3D wiggling is possible.

Bmengineer. I've been thinking about this as an alternative. Cut them in half and glue them. But then again it wouldn't look good.

The solarforce case looks like an open case without the dividers, unfortunately.
