I prefer a blade with full or near, Full length Backbone. either along spine.
Or down centreline of blade.
BUT. They all have that connecting weak spot there.

My Most Practical blade. For anything.
Fixed. 4 1\2 in Blade.
MARTIINI Original. Over 50 yrs old now. still most useful
AND SAFESTā¦ NO movable blade when working or hammering.
I replaced Tang with bigger one.
Folders alright for Trimming, cleaning under your fingernails and sharpening a pencil.
Slicing Apple. Skinning Orange, Mangoās.
Anything OVER that. Respect your fingers. Fixed.
Iāve used my frame lock folder to punch a hole in heavy barn sheet metal as a target for shooting, no probs. Guess it depends on the quality of the folder as to what one can get away with. 
Obviously a heavy duty fixed blade of quality steel can stand up to a different abuse factor as a different kind of tool.
Koenig calls the Mini Goblin a reverse tanto if I recall correctlyā¦

To get a better idea, I looked at some other Kesiwo knives. I see an obviously counterfeit Benchmade complete with āOsborne Designā and patent stamp. That doesnāt inspire a lot of faith in their steel stamps. Here is another one thatās supposedly 154CM. Notice that they didnāt even bother to fully edit out the butterfly logo on the main pic for this one. The next one takes the cake. Here is Kesiwoās fake Emerson, purportedly in 20CV, for the low low price of $27.
What steel do you think theyāre actually using here? For all we know, itās 3Cr13Mov. Yeah, it could be something better. It might be 8Cr13Mov. My problem is that you rarely find diamonds embedded in turds. There is obvious fraud and deception going on with this company.

Cold Steel Double Safe Hunter
Yep itās again 8cr13MoV steel and hollow grind, but the hollow is very slight, so itās good.
While it has spent maybe 15 minutes in my pocket (it arrived in the mail earlier today from Aliexpress), Iām definitely going to carry this Petrified Fish knife.
Itās got beautiful wooden scales that they call Sandalwood (but could pass for Cocobolo, Bubinga or Padauk) and a super slim blade. Itās only 1.7mm thick at the spine (compared with the 3mm of the Land 910Plus pictured alongside it).
It weighs a featherlight 65g (compared with the 126g of the Land) mainly due to the lack of liners, thin blade and wood handles.
It flicks out like itās assisted with its bearings at the pivot.
Itās a full-sized knife, but I can already tell that itāll disappear in my pocket as I carry it.
Lockup is good. No clip, but thatās ok with me. Handles are a bit slick and itās only for right handers. 12C27N steel is no supersteel, but it has worked for me with a few other knives Iāve got.
I should add that the Petrified Fish knife I posted above has small, nested steel liners set into the wooden handles. It doesnāt rely on the wood for its structural integrity.
My experience with Petrified Fish so far has been pretty good. They seem to be the company behind that much-loved Gocomma knife people were buzzing about here last year. Of course, Gocomma is a rebrander and unscrupulously stamped it D2. The actual PF version is stamped 8Cr13Mov. That seems accurate based on my use. Itās also worth noting that PFās 8Cr seems to have a decent heat treatment. Between that and the blade geometry, it was honestly better than knives Iāve had from CRKT and other major brands.
I developed a taste more for Speyside than Islay sourced scotch. I can enjoy some smokiness. Lagavulin 16 is about my limit. Last time I had a Talisker, it was very smoky. I know there are some variants and of course yearsā¦ donāt remember which. I might try a 10 yr again. I really enjoy Macallan 12 double-cask. I used to buy a 750ml bottle for around $40. Then took a long break, maybe a good 8 years, stunned to find it leaped up to $70 on the low side. Plus, itās more commercial now. Macallan 12 Years Sherry Cask used to be cheaper, but I saw that it has been discontinued for distribution in Europe so prices have skyrocketed. Crazy.
Single malt scotch cannot expand to meet a growing population interest. Just too slow. So, I try not to talk about it! 
I have seen an arc-lock used with a baton to split wood. SOG Vulcan Tanto.
So, a folder can be strong enough. I have one of these and itās beautifully made for the price.
My favorite small folder is, hands down, a Spyderco Vrango. Machining is first rate. Liner lock totally centers on the bladeāno worries. Now that Iāve been spoiled, Iām not driven to buy sub $20 folders any longer. Although machining is very good and you can find nice blade metal, main issue is the weight. 2ā folder weighing 5oz? Silly.
I think I may get around to finally buying a fixed though. I think a good idea to have at least one. I would like to spend under $50 USD for a really decent quality one. Is that possible?

I can even (just) enjoy a Johnny Walker double black with mates. Occasionally.
But that Blue at $250+ a bottle.
. Gold has a nice fuzz.
When my palate gets a bit āflatāā¦ I usually buy a bottle of Port. Galway Pipe or Hardyās Ćld Caveā.
Sip on that for a week or so.
I find it regenerates my Palate again. Just the change. 78 Getting old heyā¦.
I never buy the āGlensā Whichever.
Mate talked me into a Glenlivet 12. YUK.
Just reminded me why I donāt buy them. (Under $200. You want it? short 2 x tots.)

Silk through the tonsils and glooooowing all the way back.
Then I saw what it cost. wow. over my. now. buying head.
His Brother brews. Copies mainly that one and good at it too.
I sipped one of his once. 30 odd Yrs ago.
Around 72%. Smoooth as. But it came back with a real kick. 10 minās later.
Iāll stick to my 46 proof thank you.
If he watered down to sensible proofs.

I have an original Martiini. 4 1\4 in blade here. Had around 50 yrs.
Never missed a beat. Done everything. NO fancy steels. Just a good reliable one.
Sharpen b4 use. will cut anything. $50ish model would be fine.
Plus. If I lose. Well. New one. (But Iād probably cry as I did
MOST nowadays are built after military/ fighting blades. Too big and bulky.
Or too small for the next step up from folders.
ME Folders to 3 1\2 in. Fixed to Maybe 5in. Then axe to 4ish in tree dia.
Over that My Chain saw cuts anything while keeping my fingers safe.
I bought a 5 1\2 in Cold steel blade. but will remove Tang/handle.
Weld on another stainless piece and rebuild.
I only prefer Full tang full dia Handles.
