*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

Usually only for comedic purposes… or occasionally when someone is being particularly pompous and needs a mirror to sort it out.

Thanks :+1:
Any idea if & when a version 2 will be in the pipeline?

New version that can be charged via TypeC charger is available but you need to leave message or we will send the old ones by default.

Since there are some old drivers left, we sell both LT1 with old driver and LT1 with new driver which is compatible with C-C charging (C-C charging cable & charger not included)

There are 2 versions on the web site (New-LT1-Alone-Black or New-LT1-Kit-Black).

Can you please explain the difference? And how to insure the latest firmware.

I forget what the firmware difference is (minor to me), but it fixes the biggest gripe of USB-C to USB-C charging protocols.

But which is which and what differences are there.

The one labelled New-LT-1 is the latest, with the C to C charging and latest firmware.

Back read a couple pages or 20 about the firmware changes, because it isn’t that new.

I ordered before the 3rd batch was split into different SKUs. I left a note on my order but I’m not sure if I will get the new firmware or not at this point.

There are four options under “size” category. I think they’ve just added the two (new) options, as when I did my order two days ago, there were only two options: LT1 alone and LT1 kit. I had to leave a message noting that I need the latest version.

Edit: First post, so hi guys!

They are both labeled LT1.

The newest ones have updated driver hardware to make it compatible with a few more USB-C chargers.

If I understand correctly, that is the only difference.

If you use the included charging cable (USB A to C), it doesn’t matter. With the included cable, it should work with any charger the cable fits into.

I’ve just received mine 2 weeks ago and i’m very happy with it and use it every day, I specially love reading a book in a dark room with a 2700k headlamp and using the Lighting storm mode paired with rain from https://asoftmurmur.com/ !!! 8) at least it’s not collecting dust like my useless and boring Q8. cheers:slight_smile:

Yes. But I still can not understand what the various versions are.

Can you not list the the actual information?

The answer continues to be information free.

I think they meant ‘firmware’ and ‘latest’ instead of fireware/lasted…… but I could be wrong. At least what Tk said.

@alternety, on the LT1 page of the sifirn website there are 4 pics of the lantern. The first 2 are the old version: 1st without batteries, 2nd with batteries.
The second set of pics is for the “new version”: 1st pic is without batteries, 2nd pic is with batteries

New version: Has two resistors added to the driver, to improve compatibility with some USB-C chargers.

Old version: Doesn’t have the two extra resistors.

That’s it. That’s all there is to know.

Although my first batch LT1 is still traveling the world: Can we get a separate USB-C to USB-C charging board to replace the original one?

If you don’t mind shipping from China, you can order it at the end of this month on amazon. But if you want to ship from amazon warehouse, you need to wait longer time.

yes
