By upgrading to titanium?!

While aluminum apparently may cause arthritis, it’s not the only cause.

@Macka17:

Be very careful with those opiates.

It's too easy to get addicted, and overdose.

...

I used to have a massive amount of back pain.

I was put on several opiates, I took too many, and I suffered for months.

It was by far the worst experience in my life.

EDIT:

But, seriously, I could have died if the circumstances were just a little different, so I am glad to be alive and I am glad to be able to remember that horrible memory.

penzy; yes, it does help; I did a lot of distance running and bicycling (about 15 miles per day on foot and about 60 miles per week on the bike), back in the day; my knees were blown out; the pain is not entirely gone but it is much less.

You are not the first to call CBD, snake oil. But there is no denying it had worked for a lot of people, else how do you explain what is goin on. Also more than anything it is clear that the creams work for Arthiritis etc

Now arthritis is a bit more complicated as not everyone has the same type of arthritis and often underlying causes are ignored by doctors until too late in life.
I do not see something that needs to taken on a daily base on EOD base as curing anything. It is still working like a pain killer.
However if it helps someone taking it daily or every other day then it helps them.

I am open to arthritis help recommendations? CBD helps but some days are worse than others. Anyone have first hand experience with Cissus? I just stumbled upon it this week. Supposed to help with pain.

What type of arthritis do you have?

I have not been to a doctor about it yet . I am trying home remedies first. I have shoulder, hip, finger and ankle pain. My hip is the worst.

These pains can also be because of vertebrae issue, it is quite common.
For arthritis you are looking at other factors that come into play, either immune system attacking the joints or cartilage issues degrading.

But those symptoms that you have can be even exist from nerves being pressed. Or can be that and a weak arthritis.
How curved or not your spine could tell or not tell you that much. Some people have apparently straight spines and have to have surgery because issues with vertebrae.
Yeah, some people with weight issues could have spine issues, but again people that have no weight issue at all, still have spine issues.

But yeah, it is generally better to go an visit a specialist, not for necessarily taking drugs they prescribe, just to have some diagnostics about you spine, tissues, bloodwork, etc.

What type of specialist would be a good first visit? I hate getting sucked into the system. My small experience with health system was negative. I felt like a number.

People on the internet cannot treat someone, they have no idea of age, weight, cardiac function, thyroid function, spine health, hepatic function, auto-immune diseases (which can basically trigger certain forms of arthtis). Most importantly they do not have the expertise.

For checking your spine and to get a diagnostic you would normally see an Orthoped. Again not necessary to get prescription, but to know what sort of issues are there at the base, is there arthritis or it is some spine issues? Or both . You would see a Rheumatologist for arthritis.

Thanks for the advice. After this crisis is over I will see a doctor. I have exhausted most home remedies.

Sure, no problem.

i think it ‘helps’ things that are chronic, have no real test, and may vary constantly anyway

sleep issues
headaches
neuralgia
gut health
inflammation
mood
energy level
chakras

I bought a bottle of CBD isolate already mixed into PG (propylene glycol) and can use it in normal ecig/vape untis that I already use as a cigarette replacement. CBD is EXTREMELY cheap this way, and although it’s been overhyped whenever my stomach issues flare up it can help and it sure doesn’t hurt for random headaches, insomnia, etc.

“Nicotine River” has been my go-to for making my own e-cig juice and that’s where I got the isolate from.

His avatar is from The Breakfast Club (1985).

I have a number of lower back issues and have been going for various nerve blocks /epidurals and been on a few different pain meds like codone.
Recently found ‘Kratom’ and tried it, to my surprise it works better than other things i’ve tried and it doesn’t make you drowsy/dopey(as long as you don’t take a lot).
It’s kind of in a gray area, usa tried to schedule it but it was dropped and only illegal in a couple states/counties.
It’s cheapest in powder form but mildly bitter to take straight. People use it for withdrawal from harder opiates as it acts on same receptors.
Some local vape stores/head shops might sell it but they will charge a premium.

Hello penzy. I have major nerve root damage from a bad back surgery 12 years ago. Intense and permanent pain was the result. When faced with that a person will try anything to mitigate the pain, and I have. About five years ago I tried adding CBD to the arsenal. It works for me. The effect is subtle but there. Will it work for someone else? Trial and error is the only way to find out. Maybe you spend a hundred bucks doing so. Given the expense it’s worth finding a reliable source. In my case it was about three weeks of using CBD before I felt any difference. Alternatively, opiates will get the job done in minutes, which is why they are so used and abused.

I went through many suppliers before settling on one outfit. This one has verifiable third party testing and sources their ingredients from equally reliable suppliers. They also provide links to information about CBD, and are happy to honestly answers questions.

CBD
If the link isn’t blue, it’s Bluebird Botanicals out of Colorado.

So there you go, a testimonial and a source. Maybe it will help. Hell getting old huh?

As a side note, my wife years ago got a gadget for horse problems. It has a number of red(ish) led’s of different wavelengths, and the head is placed directly on the problem area. Promotes blood flow to the area I’m guessing. I asked the guy who makes it if it would work on people. He says, “oh yes,” and gave me the setting and times for human joints.” It works good for joint pain for both of us and we use it on us as well as horses. If interested I’ll shoot a pic and provide some information. I recall it costing $500 or so. Vets all have these in their truck.

Thanks both for giving your inputs. Right now I’ve been trying Voltaren for a couple months. Hard to say if it works better than CBD rubs since I also lost some weight and I am more active in the summer. I think weight loss is probably the best thing for my hip. If I can lose 10 more pounds it would be helpful. Arnica rubs are also in my rotation, mainly for sleeping.

Never heard of Kratom before. I will have to look into it. The horse gadget sounds interesting but a bit pricey for experimenting. I doubt insurance would cover it.

My wife and I both tried CBD oil for a month, for our aging creaky joints when it became legal and properly produced in Canada. Neither of us experienced any effect whatever.

“Your mileage might vary” as they say, but we felt it was a waste of money. It tastes kind of disgusting to boot.
