Sofirn SP10 Pro (AA/14500/Andúril 2) - now available!

And you’re lighting up a grin on my face! :+1:

Please make an SP10S V2 in the meantime with a shortcut to moon! Pretty please!

I second that request !
This is my only grip with the SP10S.
i would buy the SP10S V2 for sure and Later the Andúril version as my 4th sp10 :sunglasses:

ditto on the “Pretty please!”

YESSSS! Just picked up the LH351D SP10S and its a nice little light. Granted, I strongly prefer tail clickies but I’m getting used to this. With a nimh its nice that it always comes on in low, too bad you have to cycle through all the high modes to get to moonlight, though.

I ordered a driver for the sp10s to see what chip was on it without tearing my light apart.
I was hoping it was something we already had a fancy .hex file for.

Well I dont know squat about micro controllers but I know most of the hex files in the repository are for attiny chips.

This one is marked
12LF1822
SN1912
STA

It is an 8 pin chip.
Datasheet is available online.
Maybe someone can do something with this and we can flash our own.

OH BTW the driver is one of the T shaped 2 board configurations making the chip inaccessible to a programming clip.
there are multiple connections on both sides of the joint of the 2 boards so it would be difficult to separate them.
Still not easy but I think better to solder prog. wires to the pins individually.

ETA: minor correction

Interested for 1!

Yes I hope.

Yep, I am interested, depending on what the features are. Only problem is, I want it now!

TK, or I, can't do much without a driver. So the driver is the first thing we need developed, and we need a fairly good electronics designer for this.

Of course loneoceans with a lume1 variant would be great for this.

Need to have the switch on a right angle board. There is actually a little slot for the switch board in the body, at least as designed.

Factory driver.

INTERESTED!

There's some good news - Sofirn contacted me to order the stock SP10S to have as reference. I find this to be a step in the right direction, so hoping the ball will start rolling on this project! I also recently picked up a ThruNite T10T V2 on the special deal offered on Amazon, which is a similar AA light in that it takes any AA size battery, e-switch with a decent UI, similar design.

The UI of the T10T V2 is very similar to Anduril/Narsil:

From OFF:

  • click ON to last used level
  • click/hold to moon
  • dbl click to turbo/max

From ON:

  • click for OFF
  • click/hold for cycling through levels (though it's only 2 levels to cycle thru -- wut were they think'n?)
  • dbl click to turbo/max
  • if at max, dbl click to strobe

I prefer the click/hold to switch brightness levels, and the 1 click to turn it OFF. This matches up so well with Anduril in non-ramping mode. The current SP10S uses click to cycle thru levels, click/hold to turn OFF, though the SP10S has more levels/modes.
