Final sale All must go P60 aspheric kit & lenses

what's the best drop-in for this, the EZ900 I think I read somewhere (XR-E R2)? Does anyone have a link and know if you have to change how it's driven so it runs at 1.7ish amp?

Does the D.I.C.K. make drop-ins for this kit?

Yes I do, I have a couple I made I have been experimenting with, but I had some family issues so I haven't had time to finalize the details.

You can get a decent R2 drop in from Manafont they have an Ultrafire single mode version that pulls 2 amps with 2 18350s.

Edit: Sorry it's a Q5 that had the good driver the R2 has a lousy driver. I replaced the wires with larger ones and put the R2 from LCKLED and it pulls 1.1 amps with two 18350s so 2.2 amps to the emitter now, it's bright as hell.

EZ900 is the best in my option and the spacers are aluminum and they are anodized to prevent shortage

Rezolution ur order will go out tomorrow Friday since I'm at work till 5pm

Sounds good man, anyone that owns a Maxabeam is OK in my book :)

Is the EZ900 just the LED or is it an entire Drop-In?

I'm only going to be using 1 cell, either an 18650 or 18350 (depending on which host it goes in). I want it to pull about 1.7A and I want it to be an XR-E R2.

I saw this but have no idea how much current it pulls... http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/generic-cree-r2-mode-led-dropin-module-318v-p-9132

It said it was in stock, so I ordered this from DX...

Hopefully it's the EZ900 die in it. Someone stated their sample pulled 1.55A.

I want to apologize to Nitro and everyone here on the forum, I sincerely hope that my unfortunate experience didn't reflect badly on him. The lens kit I ordered from him was delivered today and from the looks of the package I would say we were both victims of the USPS. I sent Nitro a picture of the envelope, it was a good thing he had everything wrapped in bubble wrap because it looks like it could have been run over by a truck. I would not hesitate to deal with him again, he is an honest stand up guy and I'm sorry if I gave anyone the wrong impression of him.

Thanks Telman2 I hope u Enjoy ur drop in..... And that was a nasty pic of the package..... I think they could not scan it because they just about ripped the bare code off... But glad it got there and ur second part will be in the mail ASAP and well packed :)

between here and on CPF im all sold out of the lens kit if there is alot of interest i could get more ???

I knew I should have pulled the trigger.

Yes, I am interested . . . in the $53 kit.

I just got it in the mail today. It doesn't dissipate heat the same way as a regular P60 drop-in. In a regular P60 drop in, if you don't wrap the base, heat will still be transferred through the top of the drop-in via thermal conduction from the pill portion to the reflector. This aspheric drop-in is split into two pieces separated by a chunk of glass.

If you don't wrap the base in copper or aluminum on this drop-in, I can't see how it would ever pass any heat into the head of the flashlight. It looks like wrapping the base is mandatory to transfer any heat at all.

Has anyone had any issues with threading their drop-in into the base of this kit? I was messing around with an XP-G from solarforce last night (because my XR-E is on a slow boat from China) and I couldn't get it to screw in more than two turns. I can't screw it in far enough to focus the XP-G die.

Would taking some grease lightning and removing the inner anodizing help???

I'm having the same problem with mine, two threads is about as far as it will go. I haven't tried doing anything with it yet because the dropin I tried it on is not the one I intended to use. I'm waiting for a dropin that Nitro is sending me to use with the kit.

Nitro, is it normal for the drop-ins to only screw in two turns? Do I have to take the anodizing off with something to get them to screw in further?

When i assembled mine they did the same so I dropped it into my L2 host and I needed to unscrew it to make a nice aspheric beam.... I'll try another and ill let u guys know but I think it's normal

Ill even ask ash over on CPF that makes and sell them ALL the time :)
