**UPDATE** China No Give Me Li-Ion Battery??

  • Is it just me or is there something funky going on with shipping batteries out of China these days?? Before I was able to order from BG with coupons code and all that. Now, none of the batteries ship to Canada. Doesn’t matter if it’s 18650, 22700, 12345 etc, I just can’t get em now!

i ordered some batterys from AE , still not come from late january

got a refund though

batteries from china seem to go all over the world before they land at there destination

What you’re paying for when you buy locally is the reseller’s attention to filtering — quality control. Everything comes from China, some of it’s crap.
Some of it is OK.

Battery prohibition era. Hey I just noticed also in BG App that I can no longer contact online support? Couple of weeks ago I was able to? Hmmm strange indeed.

I’d recommend 18650canada or illumn for larger orders to offset shipping

Nice, I’ll check them out.

I ordered 8 batteries from Neal along with my lights and he cancelled the batteries. I live in the USA so maybe there are some restrictions on battery orders.

Sorry, Hank, but I just read an article in China Post that all of China took a vote: no more batteries for you.

I just got off chat with BG. They said there’s battery quality issues currently being worked out and to try again in a week for ordering batteries. They didn’t give specific details other than it’s just a temporary problem.
I think maybe everyone there is trying to get back into the groove and hiccups pop up here and there. Or maybe no one show up at work yet?

I’ve abandoned China batteries, use this instead:

18650 BatteryStore

They ship Canada and have some very good promos. VTC5A @ $4.

If you’re in Vancouver, I’ve bought a few 35Es and 30Qs cells off of this guy.

finland hase a nice place for batterys

i get mine from

Thanks for the links for the batteries guys! Much appreciated. It’s good that there’s choices outside of China. I’ll try them all out. :money_mouth_face:

I find it hard to be a “battery prohibition era” when other threads before, in several years, have raised similar questions about shipping batteries to Canada…
Probably not only a problem of sellers, but internal rules of the country/airlines too.

I bought some batteries from an AliExpress store some weeks ago and they are on the way via PostNL.
However, as stated in another thread, there may be some shipping constraints of batteries and not only due to the reduced flux of flights.

Ex: I had some stuff from Convoy “delivered to the airline company” since the 7th April and it was only shipped on the 17th April.

Also, other constraints have emerged before with BG shipping batteries and other stuff not long ago:

Thanks for the links. Lots of good info. But seeing that the pandemic is creating changes in shipping costs, shipping rules plus a general increase in prices, I think I’ll weather the storm for now. I treat my batteries with more care now. Like charging it right or storing it proper for example.
Recently I’ve changed my habits in terms of wastefulness due to the pandemic. The following article kinda explains it. Reuse.
