*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

I grabbed the 3/18 .hex file, not sure how to write it. What utility did you use? Thanks!

It’s graphical ui (I never did get any of the text based ones figured out)
I used one called progisp 1.72
there is a button to select the chip
then under “file” select load flash then navigate to your hex file
connect your chip clip and then hit the “auto” button
there is a place on the bottom of the window that reports progress or errors

it does a lot of other stuff that I know nothing about, but this was all I had to do to re-prog, the Lt1 a Q8 an fw3a and several convoys.

I am sorry for this issue. This year we employed more people to take charge of shipping to advoid shipping wrong items in busy time. Any issue about order, pls contact our customer service and we will reply as soon as possible.

How long did it take for you guys to get confirmation of you order from Sofirm? I ordered on Wednesday maybe it’s just too soon.

^ About after 16 hours. And I received mine in two weeks, shipped to CA.

Sadly my lanterns have one of the first fimware versions, I don’t know which exactly but they don’t have SOS yet.
I know that the driver has a set of data contacts, but where can I get this connector to flash the newest firmware?

I got a email from PayPal with my receipt but that has been it.

My order was made on the official online store sofirn on March 21, 2020, sent on March 27, 2020, and today it passed customs in my country.

I know lexel has a board for a programming “key” and maybe he has them on hand and can build you one if you don’t want to diy. You still need the usbisp

But I think more useful and what I used, was an soic 8 test clip with usbisp connected together dupont style breadboard jumpers.
You have to take out 2 screws and flip the driver to access the chip to do it this way.

I placed an order for two via the sofirn website on 19 April and paid via paypal but still haven’t received order confirmation or any message at all about the order.

Neither did I, but if you login to your account, click on your name in top left, then click on Orders, it should show order status and tracking number.

Thanks. I just checked there and the order shows items shipped 23 April and shows both the origin carrier and final mile carrier (fedex) tracking numbers.

are you using postal.ninja for tracking? searching duckduckgo for “China Post” gave like 20 results. finally found postal.ninja which actually works for tracking.
i purchased at 11th april. last movement was

Apr 19, 2020 08:36 YANWEN Logistics Shipment information sent to FedEx

number is not found in fedex yet. hoping it’s just waiting to clear China’s customs and not being literally “shipped”.

I typically check progress on 17track.net periodically and when it reaches the us carrier I check progress on that carrier’s tracking system.

ah, thanks @tekwyzrd

Oops! :smiling_imp:

From now on, I think the confirmation emails will be sent as it should be.

Honestly I dont know what the heck is going on with shipping. I realize things are a bit of a mess still but I dont quite understand how some people get their orders in a timely manner yet others are just MIA.

Ive seen multiple posts on BLF/Reddit about people ordering LT1s direct from Sofirn and stuff from Hank and it comes in 2-3 weeks to the US. Im going on 5 weeks since order for 3 shipments with my tracking either not bring up anything or not changing for 2 weeks.

Patience isnt a virtue I have though.

A lot of airmail uses spare space in the holds of passenger aircraft. With so few passenger aircraft flying because of coronavirus, you only have the dedicated mail planes and there’s less capacity for airmail.

If you’re lucky, your package reaches the depot at just the right time to go straight onto the dedicated mail plane. If not, it sits about waiting, which could be a long time if it’s ordinary airmail and there’s a lot of express airmail getting in front of it.

In that case, there’s a distinct risk that it will end up forgotten in a stack at the back of the depot for weeks until the airline gives up and returns it to China Post for lack of capacity.

I ordered 7 packages before the lockdown kicked in. 3 have arrived, 4 are still in transit. Most of those 4 have ping-ponged back and forward two or three times between China Post and the airlines as they try to find space on a route to the UK.
