Honestly I dont know what the heck is going on with shipping. I realize things are a bit of a mess still but I dont quite understand how some people get their orders in a timely manner yet others are just MIA.
Ive seen multiple posts on BLF/Reddit about people ordering LT1s direct from Sofirn and stuff from Hank and it comes in 2-3 weeks to the US. Im going on 5 weeks since order for 3 shipments with my tracking either not bring up anything or not changing for 2 weeks.
A lot of airmail uses spare space in the holds of passenger aircraft. With so few passenger aircraft flying because of coronavirus, you only have the dedicated mail planes and there’s less capacity for airmail.
If you’re lucky, your package reaches the depot at just the right time to go straight onto the dedicated mail plane. If not, it sits about waiting, which could be a long time if it’s ordinary airmail and there’s a lot of express airmail getting in front of it.
In that case, there’s a distinct risk that it will end up forgotten in a stack at the back of the depot for weeks until the airline gives up and returns it to China Post for lack of capacity.
I ordered 7 packages before the lockdown kicked in. 3 have arrived, 4 are still in transit. Most of those 4 have ping-ponged back and forward two or three times between China Post and the airlines as they try to find space on a route to the UK.
I bought some C8F from Sofirns web site direct. First set came fast in less than 3 weeks. The second C8F came in about 5 weeks. all arrived safe though. Will likley order a BLF LT1. Didn’t know they ramp tint until now.
My SP70 and SP40 seem to be en route per slowboat. Tracking status did not change since April 2nd and Sofirn mentioned once that some shipments were loaded on boats to cope with the overflow of stuck packages.

Hi all, I’ve not been in for a while so bear with me. Is the GB closed now? I’ve searched back several pages, and done a lot of google search on the lantern. Best price I can see here in the U.K. is ridiculous £79, which is $99 usd!
Does anyone have any pointers to a better deal for a U.K. member?

So I tried to search the thread, but didn’t get anywhere. My LT1 spends a lot of time on my nightstand, because the soft warm glow is fantastic. However, I’ve noticed that even if I haven’t used the LT1 all day, when I turn out the lights the diffuser appears to glow slightly. Has anyone else noticed that (and/or does anyone know why that is)? I have LED bulbs in the room with similar-appearing frosted-plasticky diffusers that don’t exhibit that behavior, even if they’ve been on all day. Is there a tiny bit of GITD powder mixed into the diffuser?
Think we’ve all been indoors too long, I thought the dog was glowing the other night. I’d had a couple of Quarantinis, as in, whatever I can find in the back of the cupboard. Just for info, Southern Comfort and Ribena isn’t too bad.
Seriously, I can’t wait for this lantern, if only for the same use as yours. So much better than an incan bedside lamp.
My guess would be faint white, like old type fluorescent tubes do for a few minutes after switching off. But that’s to do with electrical discharge agitating electrons, something that isn’t in play here. Interesting observation.
