At a white wall up until 4.5A it’s a nice neutral white. If mine is exactly the same led then it must be normal. I got 6pcs on dtp mcpcb. Used Arctic MX-4 thermal paste so it’s not heat.
It would probably be a good idea to send djozz a 2mm² CSLPM1.TG on copper star from Kaidomain, so we could better know the difference versus that earlier test (djozz got better results on a second test of the 1mm² white flat). Many people is getting white flats from Kaidomain, it would be of service. Or maybe send one to Texas_Ace for the same reason.
In particular I have a CSLPM1.TG waiting to be mounted on a K6 host (still heading home in the slow boat). Gonna drive it at a little bit above 7A maximum with a ∅22mm weird ramping SST-40 driver. The good thing is that with such driver I can ramp it down a little and measure the ceilingbounce lux to see how it compares. Considering the kind of beefy host, it should work right.
If it already gets blue at 4.5A, it could be thermal problems too, like a reflow gone bad. I can imagine KD selling lower bins than i.e. led4power, but that should not result in a different current handling, just a bit lower output.
Postage from led4power was affordable sometime ago, just not now. Adding a 2mm² CSLPM1.TG on ∅20mm star makes me see an €12.50 (Premium Packet EU2) shipping fee, when in the past their lowest regular mail shipping fee was €2. On top of this add an extra €0.80 if your order is under €9. Thus, if I want to order a single 2mm² white flat on ∅20mm star I have to pay a whopping €20.90 to see it reach my mailbox.
Actually, would I be getting a near accurate current reading using 12 awg wire, 20cm on my DMM? Someone else reported 7.5A using 2mm using my same driver and I measured 7.5A for a sec also. I’m guessing 12 awg is fine for this current.
