*BLF LT1 Lantern Project) (updated Nov,17,2020)

Now just the black.

It might be something like this:

Basically, some sort of slow leak allowing the LEDs to stay slightly on when they shouldn’t.

Or maybe there’s some GitD powder in the plastic. Not sure; I still don’t have a production model… just a prototype.

Interested.
Four units.

Depending price maybe more.

You can buy those carry cases for like $8 on Amazon.

I found another one has inventory from supplier. LINK to sofirnlight.com

I have one similar for my Tribit speaker. Cost me about $8/£5.

Nice idea as it is, I can’t see a GB benefitting anyone, the postage costs on from the receiver to those wanting a case would be too expensive, not to mention possible postage problems caused by Covid-19.

Nice case Barry! :+1:

Does it continue to glow if you unscrew the battery tube from the head. That should eliminate if it is caused by some sort of an electrical leak causing the glow or something that glows without power.

My LT1s were delivered today.

Got my LT1 with Rev 5 board, loving it already!

I got my LT1 yesterday I ordered it on the 19th of last month thru sofirn’s official ebay store

I recieved my D4v2 Ti in sst20 4000k flavor the day before yesterday ordered on the 19th of last month on intl outdoor.

Still awaiting a c8g ordered on the 19th of last month thru sofirn / aliexpress, tracking says it is in shenzen china im sure it is baby trumps doing

Check the thread about the coloured versions:

I have a question... The answer has to be somewhere in the thread, but I can't seem to find it.

The LT1 lantern, by default is configured for 5x7135 (1.8Amps), but can be configured as 6x7135 or 7x7135 (max, ~2.5Amps), by soldering the joint points for each solder point on the driver board. I forgot whether it was also possible to reduce the max power (3x7135 or 4x7135), by desoldering the points marked "5" and "4"?

I notice on the rev 5.0 board, the "5" and "4" appear to be linked by electronic circuit trace.. so it means reducing the power is possible on the older batch but not as easy on the newer batch?

Hey guys does anyone know if the third batch blf lt1 lanterns support type c to type c charging?

The latest batch are designed to support USB C to C charging, but I haven’t actually seen it confirmed here by someone who owns one yet.

Yes. See here for more details:

Well that sucks I ordered a 3rd batch lantern and type c to type c did not work. It would not surprise me if sofirn has sent me a earlier model as I feel they do not ship on a first come first serve basis

Borrowing d_t_a’s picture:

The driver on the right (the rev 5.0 one) has two resistors near its left edge, labelled R_CC1 and R_CC2. Those enable USB-C to USB-C charging. If your driver doesn’t have those resistors, then you’ve been sent an older version LT1.

Ok this is weird but apparently I do have a 5.0 version but it will only allow me to charge the lantern via my phone but it will not charge my phone. So in essence the type c to type c does work lol

Type c to type c charging does work on the 3rd batch LT1 Lantern I have it plugged in the powerbank now via type c output and im happy with the results!!!

Sorted. That’s the way it’s supposed to work. The LT1 is only designed to accept power from an external power source, so it can charge itself up. It can’t provide power to another device.

One day, there might be an “LT1 Deluxe”, with a powerbank function that can provide power to another device, but that’s a long way away, if ever.

Thank you for confirming that the new LT1 does charge from a USB-C charger - now we know for sure that the rev 5.0 driver upgrade works as planned :+1:
