So, is there a current, very popular 14500 light on the scene?

The UI is unfortunate.

I like the Reylight Ti Lan v3. It’s not the smallest 14500 light there is but the Nichia 219c on it looks nice to me. There’s enough room in the body to take protected 14500’s.

Links to Rey’s shop:

Ti version starts at $68, depending on style and LED.
Cu version on sale starting at $49, depending on style and LED.

The smallest 14500 light I have and like is the Manker E11

I did have issues with it turning on by itself in pocket or clipped to belt. So I did manual lockout. Also I think it’s cool white only and it won’t take protected cells.

I love my EDC05C. If the main emitter was a but warmer, it would be perfect.

Lumintop Tool AA.

Lumintop Tool AA 2.0

Hard to beat the eagletac. Maybe go for a newer version in titanium.

Edit: Zebralight SC53c maybe (AA).

Sofirn SP-10. Well made, nice double click turbo and basic mode for moon, med, high. Lowest moon of any light I’ve otherwise owned and perfect for the 4am pitch black bathroom run at hunting or fishing camp (or home) after some beer drinkin’.

I bought about five on sale for $11 each last year during CNY and then got EBL 14500s for them when Lightbringer tested them to be great batteries- good and cheap from Amazon (then). I stocked up then and just recharge every three months or so. We keep them in the house in several spots: bedstands, nearby dark closets, wife’s jewelry box, back door, etc.

They fit in any pocket, are tiny and lightweight. One can use “alkaleaks” in them, but it you don’t want to go 14500, NiMH batteries from Ikea (Panny Enloops) work as well. I’ve run both and the 14500 hits brighter on turbo. But I rarely use turbo and so the Enloops would also be just fine for average use.

Have dropped them, used them in rain and snow at camp, and put them through an EDC pace and they have held up very well. Also gifted several to hunting buddies and they think they are the best lights on earth (they are also now LED junkies, I am their dealer of course ;).

Anyway, for the price they are a solid little light for sure. And with the NEW LH351D emitter, I bet the color/tint is really sweet! Dang It! Now I’m gonna’ havta’ get one of these new ones! I love that emitter!!!

Yep, I’ve got a bunch of SP10s, quite nice. Whole bunch of UIs came out since the beginning, which can be confusing. No idea what’s in the SP10S, though.

And yeah, those EBLs are pretty good. Been using one in my ’micro, tried a Vapcell 7A, and didn’t see any noticeable difference. Both were hella bright.

SP-10s seem to be a hot ticket!

Are they readily “moddable” as regards LED swaps - if I got one, I would probably want to swap in a floody, warm emitter, like Nichia 219BT 3500k.

Could that be easily done?

How about the Lumintop Tool AA? Is that light readily modded to a Nichia 219BT 3500k, for floody, warm output?

There used to be a 219C version of the Tool AA floating about. Sadly it seems to be gone. So I’m siding the SP10 crew.

I had forgotten about the Manker E11. In fact I have one, somewhere.

Can the Manker E11 readily accept an emitter swap to a Nichia 219?

Sadly, that’s what killed it for me. Everything else is great. Sure wish they’d put in a driver circuit capable of running Anduril.

I’m hoping that loneoceans next target for his lume1 driver is the skilhunt m series. (Prayers)

Yes. I swapped Nichia 219b and sanded 60° TIR lens to fit. The bezel is glued but it’s easy to remove with a strap wrench

The Nichia version of the Tool AA 2.0 isn’t gone. I recently bought one. They’re often on backorder, because they’re popular and not sold by every vendor that sells the other version.

nice :+1: ,
i have a sp10 2.0 that is begging for a 219b sw45k, will try sanding down an old TIR,
did you use the glass lens ?

The SP10s with the optional 2 way clip is a nice edc for sumer time :sunglasses:

The Reylight Copper Pineapple looks great.

Do you know if the emitter is readily accessible on his lights?

Thumbs UP!
remove the Cool White Low CRI LED
replace with Warm White High CRI!

with a Nichia, the CRI will go up,
a similar percentage as the max output will go down.

I think it is totally worth the trade off.

more quality
less quantity

Including Lumintop’s Ali store, right? Because it’s not available there. (And for me, American sellers are out of the question, shipping is far too expensive.)

EDIT: If the Tool AAA with Nichia is still around, I’d love to hear of it. I seldom take mine out of the house for fear of losing it, that’s how much I love it.
