Is that a modded Samurai?! What a transformation.

In other news the crystal on my 62MAS homage randomly plooped into pieces today. Didn’t hit it on anything, was standing almost completely still and it was such a soft sound I didn’t know what happened at first. Shattered across the whole face and one big chunk had popped off. Maybe stressed it over time since it’s a domed crystal? Have never even heard of this happening, other than thunderstorms here today there weren’t any crazy pressure changes like me going up into the mountains, etc.

Yes, fully modded Samurai. Big Smile

Very nice citizen G0OSE, for the money a very good watch IMHO
Thank you junkiexl, i admit one of mine to. After all this time, i love the 009 and 007. Lots of mod options, ISO rated, yes not best of anything(movement/strap etc). But as a package, i think a great watch.

Well as i swap several times a day

Man I’d love a Christopher Ward with the old logo and placement and new handset/dial. Can’t get over the full name at the 9 o’clock position on the new ones.

Keep an eye on a so called auction site. If UK and wont ship, pm me and i can! There is always a few on there, some are a little more hard to find. My 1 i have only ever seen 1 of them. There are 2 made, the other is very dark in design.

Just yesterday was given this family heirloom from my Uncle – it doesn’t work sadly – but hopefully I can get that rectified.

Cool!

Looks like a good old swiss hand winder, maybe Unitas? Decent watchmaker should be able to fix it.

Nice watch! I also inherited an old pocket watch. I brought it to a local watchmaker to have the movement serviced and it runs great!

Thanks, yours is really nice too!
Later this week, now that some businesses may open I’ll call a local watch/clock maker in the next town to see if they can look at it – I’d love it to actually run.

Smart watches need to be charged frequently, otherwise I would probably get one.

It's very convenient to not charge my watch every day.

Smart watches are not for me either, much rather have a “real” watch. They all have their place, I carry a mobile but don’t want notifications on my wrist as well. The regular charging just adds to the forever growing list of stuff. Torches, vape mods, power tool batteries , already too much to charge!

I got a galaxy watch in another act of mindless consumerism a few months ago, did nothing for me except give me a greater appreciation of gshocks and other digital watches that still have a good deal of usefull functions and consume almost no energy.

As some work men use mobiles for flashlights, many people use mobiles for time. I am maybe set in my ways, right tools for the right jobs. Besides using a £1500 phone for a work torch is not the best idea either way IMO. i did go a good few years without wearing a watch, but now i just dont feel right without.

I’m happy with my Huawei Watch GT although it’s more of a fitness tracker than a smart watch. I use it for logging my running, cycling exercises and walks without the necessity of taking my mobile with me. It lasts for 10 – 11 days with dialy GPS tracking. I believe without the ferquent use of GPS it would last more than 20 days. I don’t care for the notifications and I don’t miss any of the real smart watch functions either. It’s perfect for monitoring my fitness activities and even for dialy wear without the need of frequent charging. It’s inexpensive and with 50m wr I don’t have to baby it too much either. So it became the part of my watch rotation.
