I gave up on E-parcel/EMS for a while, used Ali Express postage. Took ages and went via Singapore i think, but it was still faster than eparcels that went missing for 2 months.
Only one im waiting for a while on now is my SP36 BLF, apparently it his Australia last night :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s pretty nice. Definitely needs a firmware update, and it’s a little cool for my tastes, but it’s good.

Yeah i ordered it a couple months ago when i started getting into the LH351D. Ive actually since ordered a bunch of 4000k emitters. A reflow is certainly not off the cards! Certainly if it wants to be picked up over the ROT66 SST-20 4000k

Hows everyone else holding up at home?
My recent flashlight renaissance has been going well during lockdown.
Working from home i have a soldering iron and a solder pot next to me, so plenty of 5/10min solder/reflow breaks.
Burning through my recent delivery of 219b 9080 emitters very fast, lucky there is another on the way…
With two babies its the only time i get to mod, but then im up all night with the kids so i get to play with them at least…lol
Starting to take the eldest out for night walks which is going to be a fun development. Hes already showing major signs of being a flashoholic. His “not in the face” training started VERY young, he tells me if I get it too close to him!

Time at home has been great, postage times are brutal. Longer dark hours are good for flashlights. My electronic work bench is covered in crap and a half finished racing quadcopter. I’ve been telling myself for the last 3 months I need to tidy it up. In the next couple of months I’ll likely attempt a driver swap on a d4v2. Night walks with kids a flashlights are indeed fun

Where are you guys ordering convoys from? I know I can get them from banggood just wondering if there are better alternatives.

I just get them straight from Simon - sure they’re more expensive, but it beats dealing with BG’s….odd choices.

What driver are you thinking of putting in the D4V2?

I’ve got a GT90 on the way now, so that’ll be fun.

Does Simon have a website or do I need an elite BLF handshake code to contact him?

Wow… with a GT90 the government will be calling you to help with search and rescue missions!
Driver is just a standard replacement for my current one that struggles on high voltage + low power. Going to try flash latest firmware first.
I have a Cu Pineapple coming Soon™ and a D4SV2 and KR1 W2 on order (+ driver + flash kit). I’m pretty much sold on the idea of a EC10 in green so if liteshop still has one in a couple of weeks I will be playing green light saber wars in June…. then it _may_be time to sell or gift a couple of lights, hah!

I just go to his AliExpress page: https://convoy.aliexpress.com/store/330416

EC10 looks cool - I’ve got a white one on the way.

Hey Aussies, any tips on high drain 26650 For d4sv2? I know supersports600 has keepower 26650 which is a good all rounder but their MNKE IMR look pretty angry at 20a/60a. Any else I should look at while I struggle over the amps vs mAh equilibrium lol?

liteshop are having an eofy sale 15% off till Saturday use code *EOFY20* Just after I purchased my EC10 too

I’ve got a coupla boosted C8 Driver/led inserts in mail.
One here. one in Cyberspace.

Also a Sofurn SD03.
One of the nicest looking/feeling torches I have.
It not working on arrival. grrr. and no stock left to replace.
It’s a shame they stopped prod, of such a nicely built torch.

Anybody here. In Qld preferably. That works on heads.
Copper board. Drivers?. Led to suit.
Not wanting a burner. just a good reliable working wet use light.
For boat and fishing. It’ll be a shame to throw away $27AUD.

I’ve got soldering iron etc. but very heavy handed and near blind for close work nowadays.
(Wrong side of 78yrs). OK with a welder and dragline though…
Regards
Macka.

Hey lads Amazon.com.au has the Lumintop FW3A super Bright 2800LM with 3 Cree XPL LED on sale for $58. It should be free shipping if you have prime. Pretty good price for Aussie stock.

God price bad colour temp :frowning:

Hi Aussies

I’m looking at buying some 10622 and 10621 optics from Cutter but feel I should add something else to the cart to make shipping worth it.

Any suggestions for a fun 12v or 240v LED project? They have a heap of interesting stuff but I don’t know where to start.

Cree XML-2 2700 Kelvin, S5 Flux, min 90 CRI

Something to pop into a Sofirn SC31 Pro? :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha

I was thinking upgrading the head lights on my ride on mower or doing lights under the coffee table or on a timer in the chicken pen to regulate their daytime hrs during winter and lay more…

I recently set up a new garage door light; the roller door motor light is weak as hell and doesn’t illuminate anything, so I got a 12V3A power pack, into a 12V photo sensor relay, then out to a 36V1A buck regulator, and out to 2x 36v Cree COBs on old CPU heat sinks. In parallel to that buck, out to a 5V3A stepdown to a laser pointer in a line, to line up on my steering wheel when I’m parked in the right spot

Sure I can do it old school, but NO

Haha that’s a cool build. I have a few 12v relays kicking around, need to get crafty…

Hey lads if you are after something cheap and cheerful check out the Coleman Divide +250 on a Amazon for around $8. Its a great light, well built and comes with batteries its a little on the bigger side but it should be able to with stand a beating if you give it to the kids. Its only got two modes so it should be easy for any one to use. They state 250 lumens but its brighter than that.

does anyone know where is the best place to get a good price on XPL-HI in Aus? Cutter want $9 each which is a bit rich imho.

Best way I found was to get the 4x MCPCB from intl outdoor with them, and reflow to remove. Doesn’t give many options, but it’s the cheapest way I found. $16.50USD for four, but then there’s postage (unless you buy a bunch and get free shipping).

Only has 6500K and 5000K at the moment.

But actually in Aus, cutter are about the only people with them.
