Is banggood a legit business?

Okay, so you get a sealed envelope (almost impossible to open up one of those without making it very clear that it’s been opened), right on camera, open up an empty box, and you’re supposed to go to the local post-office for more info?

Uhh, yah, okay.

its obvious someone stole the light, it doesnt matter where really, u should get money back but its weird someone got through all trouble re-seal the package for some reason… usually packages dissapear… i hope u get money back. not sure what banggood wants… why would post office have anything to say? its not like the light is there behind the counter……

Almost certainly, the light was stolen from the box before packing. It’s nigh impossible to open-then-reseal those baggies without it being painfully obvious, and iirr the listed-on-the-envelope package-weight was quite low, reflecting the lack of any light inside the empty box. So it was sealed at BG with the empty box pretending to be the complete package.

TODAY June 2 2020 email below…. HOLY SHIT is this aggravating… BANGGOOD is simply playing STUPID here by beating around the bush… I’m done playing grab ass…! I’m filing a claim through Paypal after this post…! :rage:

For the record, SAVE THESE EMAILS.

Anyone with 2 working brain-cells to rub together will see the deliberate stall tactics and complete intentional lack of comprehension, trying to run out the clock or whatever.

Whether PP or your CC or whatever, they will then see the stall tactics and “play-dumb-’til-he-goes-away” attempts.

I did that once on AX, when I was shorted a few zip-up boxes, and the seller played dumb to the point I wanted to fly there to personally throttle the SOB. I practically drew a picture with crayons to show what I got vs what I didn’t get, and nothing was sinking in.

AX eventually credited me what I asked for in full. (Emphasis on “eventually”, because you’re “encouraged” to work it out with the seller first.)

BS reply… it was obviously stolen maybe before they even packed it ? they just grabbed the first box of the shelf in the warehouse and didnt even bother to inspect it maybe before pack it and ship it out ? either way paypal should cover this crap… and banggood maybe should do better security check inspections those that are responsible to ship and pack out orders…. :person_facepalming:

PayPal case opened…! Here was my message to BANGGOOD via PayPal response! (First claim ever!)

“Box shipped out empty 2 times…! Contacted seller customer service the day of delivery and included multiple emails on different days including video of package opening… They don’t respond through the same email, they send a new email with silly questions and ridiculous answers! Again, I sent first email the day this happened and everyday after anther silly response… Today was the last straw… It was crystal clear the package was shipped empty once again… See FedEx package weight…! Shipped directly from seller empty! The flashlight and battery alone would weight more than this box…
Link of video taken of second empty box… BANGGOOD 2nd EMPTY BOX JUST RECEIVED..! - YouTube

Guys, I can’t include the picture because I don’t use an image site, however, the weight of this box shipped out with FedEx at 0.9lbs……! The flashlight is 166g dry now add a 21700 battery to that…! Unreal… I really wanted this light :frowning:

Without a doubt… I included you guys with all the emails as well… Just so people looking up how legit this company is they may question buying a light that costs over $200… Or, may stay away all together seeing the hassle I’ve went through and hopefully will get my money back! Never again…

My question… Is Going Gear the same company? They use to be on here more with the deal codes… I got my DX80 from them… Was wondering why I’m seeing more from BG now…

Wellp, that’s why for the most part I don’t buy lights pricey enough to just toss if/when they break. Warranties are usually meaningless (either ship somewhere for a small fortune and possibly get someone else’s broken light, or just get ignored, etc.), and it’s not worth the hassle arguing about a DOA with the seller. PP/CC might refund outright for a cheap DOA, but might require shipping-back if pricier.

A 20buk-30buk light I can “afford” to try taking apart to fix somehow, but a pricier one is often way too proprietary, welded-shut, etc., to keep people from doing just that.

My response.

Yes, this was sent to customer service on the 23rd… So why has this not been resolved, why do I continue to get pushed around with terrible responses, why am I still waiting for a refund?! I have a list of emails from customer service that make no sense to my claims and yet I’m still being pushed around here…

Can you please send video of your neighbor opening package?
Maybe contact your local police to open report.
Thanks for your understanding! We’re all in this together, Stay safe!

just do a paypal case… pointless trying to talk to them… they probably have orders from higher up to make u lose time only nothing else….

Another Banggood purchaser gets banged good and hard! Welcome to the club.

Nowadays I am very reluctant to order anything shipped from the far east. In the past year all I’ve ordered that way is a LT1, a D4V2, and a Noctigon K1 90.2; even though they were from sellers folks aren’t complaining about, I still cringed and held my breath wondering if they would get waylaid along the shipping route. No way would I order again from BG.

Wow! I haven’t been here in weeks. And my package that I ordered on march 30 hasn’t arrived. Banggood tracking still has the last entry as:

May 11 – Origin Post is Preparing Shipment, We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece.

And I’ve messaged them through their website when logged in. is there a place to see those messages? Cause I haven’t gotten anything in email from them and can’t find a place where my messages / their (lack of) reply would be on their website.

I disputed with the credit card company. Immediate credit for the $20 something dollars I paid (after Banggoods higher price, then sales, then coupons…).

Now to actually go and buy a couple Convoy S2+ or similar at a good price. (I DID like the $10.50 each for the 2 lights). Any recommendations on deals / places? Good to know AliExpress is better than banggood.

and for the people saying paypal sides with the vendor…. or I guess anyone reading - whats your thinking on paying through paypal vs. a credit card? My thinking is to go with the credit card company - less middlemen if there’s a problem and the bank sees all my charges / will side with me over a relatively trivial amount vs. my much larger purchases overall.

And as a side note, speaking about a non-US company…

I got a US Bank credit card recently just to ring up charges to get the sign up bonus. I paid for a web service from a US company. The vendor has you pay through paypal. And you are paying a UK subsidiary of this US company. I paid through paypal in dollars.

US bank added a 2% foreign transaction fee because it went to a non US company. (it would have been 3% if the payment was in a non-US currency). Ever hear of that? That a bank charges a foreign processing fee for a transaction in dollars but the seller is not in the US? I always heard the recommendation to avoid a foreign transaction fee when traveling outside US is to pay in USD (yeah, the bank might get a better exchange rate, but then hit you with the 3%_. Or the better answer - get a credit card with no foreign transaction fees.

stay safe!

Another week, another email to banggood with no reply (when you send ‘an email’ to them through their website, is there a place to see what you sent / get a reply? I don’t get an email back from them. And sending what they call ‘an email’ from their web page, I have no log of it.

Anyone know an email address to send a real email to them?

cservice@banggood.com

If you don’t get a reply try to send a PM to Banggood .

thanks Unloco! I sent to both. The user on BLF posts 1x ever couple months. Hopefully they lurk / PM more often than that.

It is seen that they continue the same or worse … then I show you what I did … https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/28144/1065

It took time (over a month) but it worked.

PS. My journey started here:https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/28144/1052

I have spent thousands on banggood over the years… shipping is slow but the range is good. You have to be careful with the reviews they are overly positive even on crap products, best to have a community backing the product. I have risked it on a few items and usually ended up with OK products. Once I got some random component that must have been for someone else, no big deal.

I now have to pay GST (Australian tax) and more often shipping which I never did previously, this is not so cool. I always pay with paypal and don’t have a problem, only once I’ve had to escalate a refund to paypal but it was refunded without a fuss.

In summary for stuff that you can’t get anywhere else and I’m happy to wait I’ll still use it occasionally, only with paypal.
