I just got mine from Countycomm. Didn’t work at all out of the box. Removing the metal part of the switch and pressing the plastic switch directly gets the light to come on in one mode unreliably. Sometimes it does, sometimes nothing. Putting the tail switch end back on all the way gets nothing every time. Same with 10440 and AAA. I don’t know what’s up with it, I don’t want to take it apart and start screwing with it, I’m just going to ask Countycomm for an exchange and hope they are easy to deal with.
There is a plastic insulating piece in the head, have you removed it?
Yea I took the little white disc out first thing.
At this point it seems like there’s a problem with the driver. I was able to screw the head of the Reylight onto a different AAA light body to test and the Reylight will only turn on in high mode, mode switching and programming don’t work.
The button on this one also seems strange, the tail cap with the metal part of the button has to be loosened almost until it falls off before the button press activates the light (but still only in high mode only)
This piece should be screwed in tightly. Otherwise, the tailcap will give too much pressure to the switch. Pic below.
Only high mode, I think there is a short in the head, pill assembly or driver. You can use tweezers to tighten or loose the pill a little and try again.
The quickest option is to contact CC, I believe they are happy to replace. If no, I will do.

Love the AAA Moonlight! The 10440 is a bit bright. Also would love a recessed button. Overall an awesome light!

I had the non working one but I finally got my replacement in the mail and this is a really cool light. A programmable AAA/Lithium driver is awesome and now I want an AA sized one with the same driver. Are there any plans to update the AA/14500 sized Pineapple with a programmable driver like this? I’d buy one for sure.
I can’t answer your question but I can tell you that the simple driver of the pineapple has a trick that I wish all lights had: after 2 trips around all the levels instead of going to disco mode it toggles the memory on/off. I usually hate memory but there are times when it’s nice to have. The pineapple is useful in so many situations because of this feature. Specifically - when using it at work I use memory and at home I like it to start on moonlight.
Yea I know, I’m the same way, Usually I want memory off but the option to toggle it is nice.
The new driver in the AAA/10440 version has toggleable memory plus a bunch of other stuff. A higher powered version of the same driver in the 14500 sized Pineapple would be sweet.
Agreed! I have a copper mini on the way and the UI was a big selling point. So many UI seem like an afterthought, this one brings me back to the days of LF2XT.
International shipping is slow as molasses these days…hoping the copper arrives before long as I’ll be ordering a TI version soon!
I’ve been getting more into lights that run on “regular” sized batteries as I’m getting older and, as much as my kids love their flashlights, I don’t think they’ll get into the hobby as much as I have. They understand the issue with Alkaleaks and are all about NIMH so if I kick the bucket they’ll fight over lights like Rey makes. I call them my “legacy lights”. Hopefully it’s a long time off but ya never know.
