Do you own any 26650 batteries?

I use my Solarforce 18650 charger to charge my King Kong 26650s, one at a time. Odds are, the 18650 charger you have will work with some fiddling.

probably not, 3.3V, 2.3 AH. Well, with multi-cell light they could be. That's probably what's inside the $100 sears c3 battery/charger I just ordered for pickup today

I am with Lensman and trooplewis.

I have chargers all over the place and I like that I can charge the batteries I use (primarily 14500s and 18650s, with some 16340s and 18350s thrown in for good measure) whenever I need to or feel like it. I really don't want to buy a dozen new chargers when the 18650s and 14500s I have work just fine for what I'm using them for.

I don't rebuy the DVDs I own on Blu-Ray either.

If there was a really awesome 26650-only light, I might reconsider and get a couple of 26650s though.

I am a newbie, so bear with my opinion. Wink

I don't think there ever will be a 26650 only light, for the simple reasons, all 26650 lights inherently will take a 18650. No way around it..

Just like if you buy a 357 magnum handgun, it will never be just 357 only, it will also take 38 special.. ditto for the 44 magnum and 44 specials.

All you got to do is feed it what you want--then it will be become a what you want only!! Remember now, I am a newbie!!

You got it correct, cehoward. But that just adds to the versatility of the 26650 format. I carry a spare 18650 and reducer with me on bike rides so I can put it in any light if needed.

Between, I am a good grasshopper!! Wink I am on my Centurion Ironman, with both the M10s up front with the Keygos cells. However, in my bag, I got spare Hi Max 18650s, and two adapters..Plus a charger too. Wink

I've got...

I've got 20 cells that size. Here's the breakdown:

6 Sony 26650VT (LiNiCoMn)

2 A123 (LiFePO4)

2 Cn LiFePO4 26650

1 Batteryspace 4AH IMR

9 E-one Moli IMR26650

The BS and 3 of the E1 Moli cells are in single cell lights, all the others are in two cell lights (no spacers).

Yes Xtar WP2 works just fine with King Kongs for example, one at a time :)

If not, put little solder on + side of charger.

I have some 4sevens and Elektro Lumens lights that take 26650's...X10, S12 and Big Brute.

The power/run time advantages in the X10/S12 lights is great. I can't imagine a BB with less reserve capacity, so an 18650 in there would drain too quickly to be practical, even the 26650's are drained low enough to swap out in ~ 20-25 minutes.

So I have ~ dozen 26650's in rotation.

Interesting, so only about a quarter of the folks here have 26650 batteries.

I would suggest closer to 50 % if you add the top and bottom rows together?

I will be ordering a couple as soon as I figure out which ones to get. decisions.

Keith (who will decide by the weekend)

I have 3 26650 flash lights and i have king kongs and have been testing a trustfire 26650 that tested well 4500 mAh.

I have ordered 3 more and sold 3 brand new king kongs i had sitting there doing nothing and i use battery spacers from IO in some of my 26650 lights to use my 18650 batteries.

Thats why i use a hobby charger, one size fits all kind of thing, plus i use 18650 to 26650 battery spacers they cost under $2.

Right now I got FIVE 26650 flashlights. Up until yesterday, I only had TWO Keygos 26650 batteries. Two Trustfire 26650 batteries arrived yesterday, with 2 more on the way. That will make SIX 26650 batteries and five 26650 lights. I ain't buying no more dam lights, no more!! Wink

lols ive heard it all now

I picked up some IMR 26650's and a 4 Seven's charger a few months ago with intentions of building an SST-90 2D Mag, but that project has sort of stalled out.

I have only one King Kong 26650 & 8x A123 LFP for my motorcycle in 4S2P configuration.

Charge King Kong with Xtar WP2 II

Charge A123 LFP with iMax B6AC Pro hobby charger.
