Speaking of penlights. Wurkkos WK01 is $12.99 The description is way off. One of the reviews say Moonlight-High-Low with memory that resets. Looks like Sofirn SF02. Easy to do led swap.
Thanks for that info! With this tint and UI it will get plenty of use.
Iām not militant about PWM but some lights really miss the mark by having too low frequency. The fact that I wonāt have to mod it is money in the bank.
Looks like youāve already been down the penlight path pretty far, Iām a ways back still but working on it.
This crazy hobby! As my life changes so do my lighting needs so it seems like thereās always something new to try. I donāt need nearly as much light at my new job but still need some light. These are small and light and donāt weigh me down. Eneloops make it an affordable solution.
Folomov EDC C2 with Nichia E21A is on sale at $22.75, plus an additional 20% off coupon is available, bringing the total including whatever tax down to under $20.
The C2 is a neat flashlight if you can look past their choice of non standard battery. 14300 (250mAh) unique proprietary VS. 14500 (up to 1200mAh) standard commonly available . Iāll have to pass.
For $5, why not? VOKKA 1000-Lumen Small Flashlight, CREE/OSRAM Dual-LEDs, 5 Modes, IP65 Water-Resistant, Rechargeable Handheld Flashlight with Tactical Silent Button, for Dog-Walking, Camping, Hiking, Emergencies https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PPB3NRH/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_ZhT5EbMDTNRGN
Anyone wanna take one for the team?
Iām in for one .
I'll pass because it has disco modes that I think one cannot easily avoid.
It might be good for modders, though.
Wellp, my thinking is that the driver (with onboard charging) is pretty much married to the host, plus it looks like itās even a driver-in-tailcap design, ie, no mention of having to have the light turned on to charge, in either the description or reviews. And if some putz is returning the light because it doesnāt come with a Crapfire cell even though it says that pretty clearly in the description, you know someoneād be returning it for ānot chargingā.
And no mention how to switch between flood and throw?
Dunno, sounds like Hell to mod, and worse to keep as-is.
Intriguing idea, though.
Anyone wanna take one for the team?
I've had too many $5 shots of Vokka already .
Ordered. For $5, worth just to take a look at the driver design.
Yes, that is most unfortunate and why I couldnāt bring myself to pay the usual $35 for one, but being as I have a specific albeit seldom use for a small 3000k high cri light, I can deal with the $18 and change it ended up costing.
I did see it claimed somewhere that 14250 batteries can be used with a spacer. Do you know if this is true?
Vokka Vokka Vokka I would give it a try if I could tell that both emitters on/off controlled separately. Both on at same time??
The C2 is really nice love the E21A but that darn weird battery is impossible to source without ordering in bulk from China.
Vokka coming tomorrow, Iāll let you know

Sounds like Fozzy Bear!
Or Fonzi bear.
Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Got my Vokka today. The finish feels good with no sharp edges or visible blemishes. The battery tube is about the diameter and length of a 26650 and has a lot of extra space inside for an 18650 to rattle around, but the springs seem strong enough to prevent it from happening despite a few vigorous attempts. Although there is a tail clicky, it does not completely turn off the light as half presses still turn it on no matter how many clicks you try and no tailcap lockout. USB charging seems to work, nothing special and hopefully it doesnāt compromise water resistance. Brightness seems better than average for a $5 flashlight today. With both LEDs on, the hotspot is not as bright as my Convoy C8, but it is much larger and probably more useful for general use. The color temperature seems to be pleasant, not too cool or warm, Iād guess in the 4k to 5k range. Overall it seems to be a good deal at this price, as long as the parasitic draw doesnāt prematurely kill the battery due to not having a true off or lockout.

I got one the last time they ran the deal and its bright with adjustable beam. The add says 3500 lumen and Iād have to say thatās pretty close.
Similar output to a Q8, I used it to light up (Driveway and parking area) my sons basketball court.
I wouldnāt buy it just to replace a outside light unless you need to light everything, its bright.
Out of curiosity, got one of each.
The A7P works fine. Looks like a decent enough light.
The A3N is a lemon. Somethingās definitely wrong with the switch, doesnāt switch modes reliably, canāt even turn the fān thing off!
Great, sitting untouched, it just magically turned itself on again.
Guess Iāll be returning this oneā¦ :confounded:
