EMISAR D4S V2 26650

Where were you able to find Shocklis in Europe? I’ve been looking around forever, to no avail. Nkon doesn’t have them.
According to HKJ’s tests 5500 Shockli are hugely better than the much praised cyan liitokalas. Much higher capacity and higher current too.

I also didn’t found chocklis in Europe, I bought mine at aliexpress, Shockli battery store

Selecting a battery for D4SV2, should I be aiming for Maximum Continuous Discharge of 20a for good performance?

I can currently only find 4000mah in this discharge in Australia so its a big dip in capacity vs the 5000mah / 15a continuous Keepower alternative.

I’m sure the Keepower would work fine. I may ask supplier if they can send one of each to test the difference.

Have a D4SV2 on the way with XP-L HI V3 3A, 5000K.

In another thread, one of the gurus said the D4S XP-L Hi draws 13 amps on turbo. So I just use a Shockli 5500 battery and it seems to do fine -even though I abuse turbo regularly. The cell under the wrap is the PLB-55A and it was in other brands like Keepower and Vapcell. Someone said PLB stopped making that cell. But any high capacity battery rated for 15 or 20 amps will be fine and will provide a longer runtime than a high drain cell.

Yeah cool, runtime is important so will lean towards the Keepower :sunglasses:

the best is using as high capacity as possible… im using in my d4s efest 4500mah high drain because at the time there wasnt any other batteries with similar capacity, if i was to buy today extra i would get some keeppower 5000mah or similar.

Hey has anyone found a good 26350 for this? I’ve been looking everywhere…

Thanks!

I have the violet 26350 cells that seem to be sold out anywhere now. They are expensive at the Haikelite Aliexpress store: Violet 26350

Vapcell recently released some decent 26350 cells: Vapcell A20 26350 2000mAh 6A

The 26350 all have around 2000mAh and 6-8A discharge.

Hey thanks! Hank replied to my email, saying

“Hi, this is a good battery for it,

They say they’re 6 amp discharge current. Since shipping was like the price of a battery I ordered 3 of them. I don’t have any other 26350 lights but I’m sure i will at some point (:

I need to get a box to organize all my batteries. What do you guys use?

I ordered 2 supposedly 10amp 26350s from Mountain Electronics a while back for my E10. Obviously the E10 doesn’t pull 10 amps so I don’t know if they a really are, but that’s another option.

Hi, I have both D4s and D4sV2 with the same leds, XP-L HD V6 3D, but the ones in the D4sV2 are colder, like 6000K maybe? Can this be a variation over tints in same leds or may I have a different led version?

In the boxes both of them state the same leds.

D4s left, D4sV2 right, both with fresly charged Vapcell 26650s.

In turbo is more noticeable

Looks like the same CCT to me but the D4Sv2 has a much nicer tint. Greener tints can tend to have the effect of appearing as a lower CCT than they are.

Tint is kind of a lottery as to what you get, and it looks like you got a good one with your D4Sv2.

Yes more like CCT.

I also have a D4S XPL-Hi 5000k and D4Sv2 with XPL-Hi 5000k. But in my case, the D4S XPL-Hi 5000k seems to look a bit “nicer” to me than the D4Sv2 XPL-Hi 5000k.
Likely CCT.

In your case, I like the tint of your D4Sv2 better since your D4Sv1 has a bit more “greenish” hue.

You guys have me wanting to buy a “warmer” D4SV2. I got the 6500K and I’m just dipping my toe in the “warmer temperature” flashlight water. Hank is my favorite seller and I have a 2000K Noctigon KR4 coming

Jealous, I only have one light that is warm, the 4000k sst20 fw3a. It’s a beautiful tint and also the first real light I bought (6 months ago), now I want the 2000k kr4. My 5000k kr4 is my most used light out of my 20 or so flashlights. Love everything about the kr4, and 2000k just sounds so different, extreme (?) and interesting.

Thanks for replying, I don't know, maybe I like more the tint of the D4s because it's more neutral. The spill in the D4sV2 looks a little bit blueish.

Yeah I’m pumped! I’ll let you know what I think of it when it arrives and take some pictures of the beam if I can figure out the best way of doing that. It seems like when I take a photo of a flashlight beam with my iPhone it never looks like reality

I wanted a wider beam for my D4Sv2 as I mostly use it in tighter spaces indoors or underground so it’s nice to have a wider and more diffused beam. The standard ‘floody’ optic offered by Emisar with 20 degree beam angle was much better than the normal one but was still a bit narrow for my taste, especially when taking videos lit by the torch.

It turns out LEDiL also makes optics in the same style in both 25 and 30 degree angles, so I ordered some of each to test. They work really well in my torch and I now have the 30 degree one permanently installed; I think it’s a great balance between light spread and intensity, because there’s still directionality in the beam and a central spot, but at the same time you get a really wide illumination.

Here’s a comparison of the different optics I have, just quickly knocked up:

I’m a noob at doing comparisons here, so if anyone can tell me how to do a better demo I’d be happy to go back and make a new image.

I also ended up with a few spares of the wide optics, so I have a WTS thread. (I hope it’s OK to mention this here)

Have you tried D-C-Fix?

Hi guys

Apologies if this question has already been answered but I currently have a d4v2 in cool white XPL Hi V3

I am looking to buy a D4sv2 in cool white too but was not sure which LED and Tint to get?

Is there anywhere I can get some beamshots of XPL Hi / XPL HD / SST20

All in cool white 6500k

I am guessing the natural upgrade if I am a fan of cool white would be to get the XPL HD as this will give me 5300 lumens at max? whereas my d4v2 is on xpl hi so therefore giving me 4300L max

Thank you!
