[4K Review] IMALENT MS03 - 13000 lumens, World's Brightest EDC

Everyone complaining about the Imalent 21700 battery being too long should know the Acebeam & Fenix 21700 batteries are the same size.
Yes the Acebeam & Fenix 21700 batteries work in the Imalent MS03.

IMALENT’s latest response to the Turbo red light problem:

“because we put glue to seal the head and battery tube, when it is not dry, we started to test them on turbo, so the glue melted and loosed the body, but we didn’t realised before
If people who want to solve the problem themselves, just need to take off the body, clean the glue and make it tight”

That explains why the tube came off easy but left glue residue

Samsung 40T with solder blob powered up the lights, but turbo red light problem with both of my MS03 and all four of the 40T blob top cells. Clean up glue at seal between head and tube and tighten did not solve the problem. Also, I had difficulty getting the extra long Imalent cells to power up the lights, even with tightening both the head and tail by hand as tight as I could. I removed the white plastic that was protruding from the positive button of the Imalent cells with a razor blade, and that solved both problems: the turbo red light problem and the difficulty with getting contact to power the lights were both solved. I can use the solder top cells in my other 21700 lights.

Just to make sure I can follow: Are we talking about heating up the tube and unscrewing it from the head?

Thanks for sharing this tip… i was pretty upset on the turbo red light issue as well, also the light cant seem to ramp up to level 4 after i use Turbo.

I went out for a night walk and was met with some light rain. Used the MS03 in the rain, Pretty cool until this morning, i saw this:

Imalent MS03

!

I contacted Imalent Support, they told me to wait for a few hours to see if the moisture is still showing, if so I have to send it back for repair or replacement.
What a bummer.

Just cleaning off the glue, it doesn’t work, I still get the red light.

I have tried this and I can confirm that it hasn’t worked, I still get a red light and I think you will too if you keep playing with the MS03.

Bummer, I wanted to get this flashlight… why is Imalent so unreliable…

Tbf, I’ve ever had an issue with IMALENT until the disappointing LD10 “keychain” light and MS03.

I did not experience any problems with my MS03, the only thing is that you’ve gotta be careful where to place it doing current testing.
It actually does over 30A and it does get HOT!

Amaretto just posted his comprehensive and valuable review in the German forum. He did not mention the red light turbo phenom.

My MS03 also has the red light issue, not often but randomly. I haven’t tried the glue or white ring removal tip yet.

Update:

Contacted Imalent, they will send a replacement for me once they received my shipment with the moisture soaked unit.
In the meantime, i will use my Lumintop FW21 pro, which is pretty rad.

How do you unscrew the body from the head? Mine is tight.

Will Imalent cover shipping for you?

How does the FW21 pro compare to the MS03?

No, I am paying shipping on my own as i brought direct from Imalent Lights.

FW21 pro is a pretty fun torch with some cool Blinkies function. The Turbo mode is pretty usable and stable, meaning I can hit on turbo again when it step down and it will still work.
Hope this is helpful…

In what ways? In many ways they are similar, and in many ways they are very different. They are in the same size, power, throw and runtime class. Single 21700, about 9000 lumens. For me, the choice of FW21 Pro or MS03 or NSX53 or TM9K is a matter of personality, that’s why I got all four, even though they are very similar in size, runtime, lumens and throw.

The FW21 Pro is a little less floody than the MS03, with a little more throw.
