I got my Vokka today. I’m ready to just toss it in the trash. It’s the worst light I’ve ever held, lol. The UI is garbage, the emitters suck. And it’s not even worth as a host since the body is way too huge for an 18650 but still doesn’t fit any other battery. Not worth it.

Yup, at least it was only a fiver

Oh, that's a shame.

It looked like a halfway decent flashlight.

Got mine yesterday. 5.5 amps and 1100 lumens ain't that bad for $5 light w/charger, thrower and flood LED's. Overall quality is decent - I've seen much worse.

I measured the 5.5 amps and lumens (Tom E lumens). 1170 at turn on, 1080 at 30 secs.

Now bout the electronics. It's a conventional power switch driver, except that it does turn the LED's off while still being powered on. 3 pole switch where the 1/2 presses cut power. If the switch is up, the driver has power. So there is a parasitic drain, not measured yet. Besides the ring that uncovers the USB port, the tube and head seem glued pretty good. I did try my sticky gloves but not more aggressive methods yet. I would like to get to the driver. I do see at least one joint at the base of the bezel, just above the removable ring. Least they designed the tail switch to come apart easy enough - the plastic piece with the spring threads into the tail piece.

Yup I’ve spent more for worse, but nothing in this price range has been any better.

Thanks for affirming the amp draw.
Over 1000 lemons after 30 seconds for $5, yeah baby!

The modes are as described, and you can charge with USB, don’t know what the hate is about with some members about this flashlight.
It cost less than a Value meal at McDonalds Smile

The driver looks like pressed in from the front/top and I saw the gap you are talking about at the edge at the base of the bezel, head seems glued good, batt tube gave up after just giving a good grip and reef on it.

Thing seems to heat up nicely, controlled if you will.

Price is now $10.99

No “hate” from me, just learned my lesson with the dreaded AT01. What a POS each of those were… Most 9-LED craplights had better quality than those.

Then again, remember the Tacklife? That was a great investment; wish I would’ve gotten more. Got some diffusion film on it (inside, between reflector and glass), and it’s a kick-arse (now-)floody light that daylights what’s in front of me. Absolutely great all-around-the-house light.

Anyhoo, I’d wait for reviews first before getting burned again on an unknown. Silly

I got two of those Tacklife’s and it was a great deal, especially with the included quality battery.

This Vokko is a letdown, but for a fiver it’s not the worst light either. Luckily I have lot of people to gift lights to and it’s already gone.

Received my four VOKKA lights and they are all from limited editions.

Three are from the SO-NOSOS batch and have an SO mode but no SOS mode.

Instead of blinking out SOS SOS SOS etc. they only blink out SO SO SO etc.

Must have been some cost saving initiative at the factory but not worth it in my opinion to cheapen the light just to save a few pennies.

Don't tell me I'm the first person to ever have had the SOS mode on for more than the first three letters.

The forth VOKKA is from the SO-NOSOS-NOOFF batch.  This one is special and I'm saving it for myself.  It has the custom no-off clicky tail switch.  Just lightly touching the switch (even without any pressure) turns the light on.  So far it has always turned off but I don't trust it to stay off.

Besides charging an 18650 Li-ion battery, the built-in charging port can also dangerously charge three NiMH or alkaline AAA batteries at a time in series when they are in the light.  However, in their defense, VOKKA does warn you to never do this in the fine print of their instruction manual.

Not sure if the VOKKA SO-NOSOS-NOOFF will replace the Wurkkos WK30 as my EDC, but it sure ticks off all the right boxes.

If you think it's too cheap for $5 on Amazon, you can always buy it here for $23:

I put a fresh charged yellow 18650 at 4.16v 2 days ago.
I used the light for about 2 mins total on low and I just checked the cell it reads 4.07, that’s not good right?

Is there parasitic drain using 3 AAA?

In theory the 3 AAA's should have bout the same parasitic drain. 4.16 down to 4.07 in 2 days is some significant drain. I'll measure it later at home.

Sounds pretty normal to me – voltage will drop fairly quickly initially.

Take another fully charged cell, and check its voltage after 2 days. I bet you’ll see it dropped, even if you didn’t use it.

Parasitic drain is easily measurable, least for me. I got 2 meters that will do it. I'll check it out - shouldn't have to wait for 2 days.

I got one the last time they ran the deal and its bright with adjustable beam. The add says 3500 lumen and I’d have to say that’s pretty close. Similar output to a Q8, I used it to light up (Driveway and parking area) my sons basketball court. Big Smile I wouldn’t buy it just to replace a outside light unless you need to light everything, its bright.

The code just refreshed. Party

Ordered one, thanks. Beer

I measured 38 uA parasitic drain, which is pretty low. So maybe Pete above is correct - that voltage drop is normal for this drain, or yours has a higher drain, or that yellow 18650 is not so good? Maybe you can look at a discharge curve and see how many amps it would take for that voltage drop. Voltage drop is not linear so have to look at 4.16 down to 4.07.

Seems ok, I guess.

Both NW and CW versions of the Wowtac A2S headlamp are $23.99 (compared to the normal 29.99 price), which was awesome to find since I’ve been eyeing this model for a while now.

Banggood has the Astrolux FT03 SST40-W for 33.99 US right now. If you don’t have one, you need one. Best thrower bang for the buck ever…. Sorry, I missed seeing the word Amazon when I posted this, but I am going to just let it stay because it is a good deal.

I ordered 2 at that price, so when I finally receive them a month or 2 from now, it will be a good day. I am convinced they use very old runners on land, and swimmers in the water. That is the same for all shipments from China though. It is not a service for the impatient. I often even forget about the order by the time it gets here, but the savings on items are just too great at times in spite of the turtle shipping speed. By the way, that Astrolux light can more than match lights that cost 3 times as much. I might even get brave and de-dome one of them.

High quality cells like Samsung 25r or 30q will hold voltage better than less expensive cells. All will self discharge some though. I never really feel comfortable if I do not really know what cell is really under a wrap…especially for vaping or headlights. I also prefer charging the batteries in high quality chargers. I really do not know how they get away with the extreme exaggeration they put on some battery wraps considering the danger. I appreciate a company that does not seem to inflate the mah and current ratings of their batteries.

I don’t like magnets in my lights either.

Which is why I swapped my EDC-18’s tailcap for one from an Emisar D4. The threads are the same, though I did need to insert a bit of wire at the bottom of the tailcap to get a good connection.

It depends on the way I will use the light whether or not I like a magnet…some like the nicron n7 with the swivel head, are great for using under the hood of a car. For an EDC light I agree with not liking the magnet, but when you have a lot of lights to choose from every day, a few with magnets are OK.

I'm on a penlight kick, ordered the A7P for work, pretty nice! 2 levels only, tint isn't bad enough to swap emitter. No memory. Bought it for $11, went on sale for $7.99 the next day! Saw that the A3N went on sale for $12.99 so I grabbed one for home use, can't comment on it yet as it won't be here until tomorrow or so.
Out of curiosity, got one of each. The A7P works fine. Looks like a decent enough light. The A3N is a lemon. Something's definitely wrong with the switch, doesn't switch modes reliably, can't even turn the f'n thing *off*!

Hey Lightbringer. Does the A7P only have 2 modes? 65 lumens and 200 lumens? If yes, I would have to pass, even though it's now listed at $7.29.

Thanks for the confirmation. 65 lumens is way too high for a low mode for my purposes, especially in a penlight.
