Sofirn C01R deep red [sold out, discontinued]

The SD05 without timed stepdown ist the new version of it. I don’t think the old one will be manufactured anymore. But of course, if there’s still some stock, it will be sold. Point was, the SD05 always had temperature regulation, but Sofirn wasn’t trusting it as I understood it. This gave rise to critics on the TLF.

Does the SP31V2.0 have temperature regulation? I used to own one but never noticed. With more than 1000 lumens it should better have something like that.

are these shipping now ?

Still “Awaiting shipment”. Check your orders on sofirnlight.com

Sofirn replied to my e-mail last week, and said the lights would be shipping “next week”!
I’ll be waiting for it

Sofirn should send a couple of these lights to this university. You never know what comes of it.

Sure. However, my impression is that Sofirn wants to avoid additional commission which eventually increases the sales price. I do not know how many C01Rs are left on stock but personally I would rather see them offered on Amazon than AliExpress. I could imagine that some people are reluctant buying because of extraordinary long shipping times from Asia to anywhere in the world. Selling these lights from local (Amazon) warehouses may improve that situation a bit.

Good point! :+1: As stated before, C01R deserves a bit more attention. I always had scientific purposes in mind when thinking about C01R.

‘top hat’ 5mm LEDs:

I’m tempted, but how bright can they be at 20mA? And with vf > 1.5V, I presume they do not work in the usual hosts, or am I wrong?

I would like have an S2+ style Triple with XP-E2 Red - SST20 2700K - Osram IR or UV
2 modes for each Led,better if with the possibility of choosing which LED to turn on first.
Do you guys have on plan to develop it?

Usual problem with UV LEDs and triples is that the polycarbonate optic blocks UV wavelengths.

Should be ok in the usual AAA hosts with boost driver, like the Sofirn C01. There is not the problem with burning off excess voltage that lineair drivers have, these drivers are actually current controlled, so boosted to the correct voltage.

Can I put XP-E2 deep Red on my C01S without issues for the Led?

Update from Sofirn:

  • The price has now increased to $ 9.99.
  • Standard shipping is now free as of $ 59.00 total order value.
  • C01R production will probably be finished by this week, so shipping should start soon afterwards. Sofirn is pushing to expedite the timeline as best as possible. Thank you for your patience.
  • C01R will also be sold on Amazon but not before August 2020 due to heavy workload in their warehouses.
