Wrist watches. Post pics, if you EDC one!

Yes … WUS is “Gone Fishing” this morning for me as well.

Wow, that Doxa-style SKX is stunning.

Yep, the Doxa homage is pretty nice. Great beater with lots of character.

They are switching to new servers & software.

The new interface for watchuseek.com is completely unusable for my needs.

If they don't fix it soon, I'll have to find a new watch forum.

I understand.
Most of the forums I belong to have been switching to this software over the past couple months, so I have gotten used to its navigation.

It's the search function that seems practically unusable for me.

Lately I just do a search for threads with "Timex" or "mesh" in the title, and so far it doesn't work like it used to.

Yes, the search specific to each sub-forum, especially the private sales, is now a major PITA for particular brands.

SteelDive Pilot with Seiko NH35 movement and sapphire crystal:

Nice clean pilot. How’s the lume?

The lume is decent too although it’s not as bright as my other SteelDive divers but it’s much better than the lume on my Pagani Explorer.

Nice! :+1:

Watchuseek has worked out the revised site bugs and I find it quite nice. Posting is a breeze and adding photos are now drag and drop. No need to select advanced options to compose a post. A bit of a learning curve to break old habits yet, I am quite pleased with the new format.

On my wrist today. My Trusty Borealis Estoril 300.

I'm glad WUS works for you.

For me, the search is beyond broken.

If it worked correctly like it used to before the update, I would really appreciate it.

“SteelDive ”Sumo”“:Steel Reviews: EDC pocket dump #4 (knives, tools, gears, gadgets, watches etc.) today:

SteelDive SKX007 with all the upgrades what I always missed from the original Seiko (NH35 movement, sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel):

The second Steeldive, Heimdallr, etc. releases one of these SKX homages with a solar quartz movement I’m jumping all over it. Can’t believe Seiko hasn’t done it already, especially with their moves toward retail/boutique shop sales vs watch enthusiasts (or anyone that needed a cheap tool/diving watch, but let’s be honest the SKX wasn’t king of that role for at least a decade).

IIRC Steeldive already has a quartz version but it has much cheaper fit and finish compared to the auto mech one they sell. Yours looks fantastic!

Thanks!
As I see SteelDive gives the biggest bang for your buck so I hope they will release a couple of “eco drive” versions sooner or later.
This SD SKX wears smaller than I expected, even the jubilee bracelet feels comfortable so I’m quite happy with it. The only thing that bugs me is that the recent version comes with a full lumed ceramic bezel. So I’m planning to upgrade mine with a full lumed one but I’m not sure about the process. Can anyone recommend me a good guide for replacing bezel inserts?

I really like the look of my Seiko SNK809K with the 5 on it that’s not looking like an S but it has stoped 2 or 3 times on my wrist so it seems I must go to service it. I like the idea of a mechanic watch, esp. the non-ticking second hand, but it doesn’t seem to work with me.

So this watch with this watch face, the crown on the 4, same size but solar, same price tag, that would be awesome.

Second best could be the Seiko Alba AEFD (some numbers) but the dial is looking less refined and the date wheel is white, not so nice on a black dial when it doesn’t fit into the design.
Hmm, I have 4 watches, on my Traser P5900 the cheap Ronda movement is dead, on a Skagen and a CK watch I damaged the screw heads while making new straps (for the CK there’s only rubber bands available, too much sweating, the Skagen leather bands give up after 2 years, I hate that) and the Seiko 5 needs service.
Somehow watches are not my friends.

I even asked at my local Traser dealer about a repair. They said I must put down 100 Swiss Francs (same in :money_mouth_face: before they even touch it.
Yeah right.
Now I just have to decide if I buy the movement and the hand removing tool for $15 together or if a watchmaker in Germany will repair it for me for 20-30 Euros…

they won;t be able to give a cost unless they open it
it may still be more than you want to pay for a fix
you could get another one for $80 usd

solar is going to ‘tick’ [ which i happen to like but that is just me ]
