Nebo Redline Blast

So I picked this light up today at the local tool store sale for $30cdn. I mostly bought it because the price was right and I do like my zoomies, figured it would be much better than the $10 XM-L zoomie of many different names, and it’s much smaller than the Nebo O2, which I have almost always had issues with. It is a really decent flood for the money, which I like for walking the dog at night. Time will tell.

I saw that light in Academy under the brand Iprotec, model Pro 1400. I’m not a Nebo fan but this light fits what I’d like to use as a car light. I’d like to know what the voltage is out of its’ carrier(?). If it’s
a 3S,2P configuration, I would run it with a 26650 and a capped copper tube spacer.
Can you tell me the operating voltage for this light? Thank you!

Well, I went and bought the iprotec version. Come to find out the 6 AAs connect in series so it’s a 9 volt light with a 4 die XHP50 LED.
So, i pulled out the DMM and measured ~3.6A driven by Eneloop pros, a 30 watt light. Pretty bright. Then, I loaded 2*18500 Sanyos and measured ~6A, now a 50 watt light.
With this light heating up, I wanted to see how it was built. The solid pill screws into the body and the twisty head comes off with the removal of the pill… typical zoomie. The fins look good but they aren’t the first path of heat flow as the body transfers it via contact with the twisty head threads. I applied some thermal paste to help at this contact area.
The driver is behind a pressfit disc of plastic and the positive contact is a ‘rivet’ that is hard to make contact with so you need button-top cells. It looks like protected cells will fit.
In the cap, there is actually a good switch assembly. The hefty, gold spring is held in place by a plastic retaining ring against the pc board with the switch soldered to the other side. It would be easy to solder in the spring bypass, although for what I plan to use the light for, I’m happy with the output. I can say the output looks to be quite close to the stated 1400 lumens. It outshined the DQG Tiny 1st gen. triple powered by a Shockli 4200 mAh 26650.
Basically, the light allows the battery flexibility I was seeking with good output. AAs, adapter-fit 18500s or 26500s will work.

@ Nachtfeuerzeug, can yu help me figure out how to load this light , securely, with a battery housing /holder, to load it with 18500’s? Id like to convert it over from the AAA’s
