Hi, I am AliExpress!

When I want something directly from China and I'm interested in customer reviews, I usually go with AliExpress.

The customer reviews on AX aren't perfect, but they have helped me make buying decisions plenty of times.

Do you think they’re usually legitimate and non-manipulated? (This is an honest question, not trying to prove a point.)

Yes, but I prefer the reviews on Amazon, for example.

They seem to be better quality reviews.

And, yes, I know there are a lot of fake Amazon reviews on many items, so they're not perfect either.

In China.

Thank you and for reaching out to our little enthusiast forum. Can you relay the percentage of flashlight sales you are seeing over time? I’m very curious as to the trend (e.g. since 2010). Thank you!

Welcome AliExpress,

I assume it's not Jack Ma himself we are talking to, right? :-D I agree with the other ones that your website really needs some work, both performance-wise and design-wise. Apart from that I always had good experiences shopping on your site. Customer service is good and reliable.

Concerning the reviews on AX:

Likewise to Amazon I first look for the ones that are neither 5 stars nor 1 star ratings. These kind of ratings are actually very rare but look most legitimate and not manipulated. I can't help but suspect that most reviews/ratings are faked because in 99% your will find 5-star ratings in the big majority no matter what you look for.

Yes I agree, the search is horrible compared with similar websites like Amazon. Please fix. And welcome to BLF! Hope you are really from Aliexpress.

yeah!

why has ‘aliexpress’ not responded to any improvement requests

wle

I'm not a huge fan of Amazon's search function either, though it is better than AX.

eBay seems to have a really great search engine, in my opinion.

i agree with all that

ebay search is useful

craigslist search is useful

(anything is useful if it allows you to REDUCE results by saying things like ’’show me listings for flashlights, under $40, but not if they contain the string 16340”)

the worst searches are the ones that do not let you eliminate stuff you do not want to see

amazon is pretty bad—it does not let you reduce

ali is worse

dhgate seems to use the same code as aliexpress

i forget what fasttech and banggood and the others use

I sent you a PM Aliexpress. I can’t buy anything. I pay by card then the next day the order is closed.
Now when I try to pay it gives me error code csc_7200030.
Could you please help resolve this error.
Already contacted my bank, there is no problem on my end.

For the same reason my other name is Almighty God The Terrific, but call me buddy if you wish. :-D

My AliExpress reviews are consistently published, with many coping high places in the “default” ordered review list even if the rating isn't 5 stars. I believe reviews last 6 months. Some examples of products I reviewed (I appear as S***s, from Spain, in the list):

I've trashed very few items, the Yonii Q1 charger for example. I recall my review being published there, but it expired.

In my experience AliExpress reviews are legitimate.

P.S.: I think many of you think or believe AliExpress is from the technical support team, but he/she didn't say such a thing. O:)

—i don;t care - i complain about that AWFUL SEARCH anywhere i can

Mmmkay wle, we already were there. We and others had some discussion in my thread A few words about the new AliExpress site overhaul :-/

I must admit I have changed for the better and wouldn't write the above thread O:) in the same way. There is a lot of good points in it, though.

I still have to curb myself from time to time when using the very G00gl€ search, as when I launch a search from my browser's bar it defaults to non-verbatim mode which is @#$%. Years ago I remember being able to do very precise searches, without unrelated results, but now… Concerning the AliExpress search engine, its even worse as it lacks search operators. But mind you, from this side of the screen we don't really know how does their engine deals with the bunch of languages it has to deal, so probably it does a much better job than we imagine here.

AliExpress could learn from the eBay search engine, which has an advanced mode plus some operators (look here and there). Of course, this if they're willing to get off :-D their high donkey.

I have questions for you ” AliExpress ” …
.
Why do you charge extra to use PayPal ?
.
Why do some stores not accept PayPal ?
.

NO TAXES DUE TO CHINA!

I stopped buying from Ali after that “scam” started.

I am also in Kansas USA where no interstate sales tax exists (yet). If you don’t have a warehouse IN Kansas, you can’t charge me tax. FleeBay doesn’t and Amazon doesn’t.

I don’t give a about games either (there are enough in the USA as it is).

Do we have any evidence at all this is actually someone genuine from Aliexpress ?
I mean apart from the name and logo, which I could just do myself, I see nothing that substantiates it. (presumably SB knows since he’s greeted them - could you just confirm pls  )
Just think it odd Aliexpress should send rep over to a site, which basically accounts for 0.002% of their income……. :stuck_out_tongue: Hardly worth their while surely - most deals on here aren’t even from Aliexpress!.
For all we know it could just be another ‘link earner’ set up an account, or an existing linker. Or someone just having a giggle.
Always the pessimist me sadly…… :person_facepalming:

first of all, welcome to BLF.

I am not going to repeat what others already said (horrible search, sellers manipulating search results, …)

Most of us probably go to AE because they tend to have the lowest prices, the best selection in electronics and really unique parts. Shipping was mostly free, that changed recently, but overall still good prices and interesting coupon/loyalty system.

I tend to believe the international reviews, they are not as elaborate as on Amazon. But they normally give you the highlights (shipping speed, quality, and also details the seller didn’t explain). AE is a mass-market platform, not a highly curated web shop where every detail is listed. That is also the charm of AliExpress, it is almost like living in China, going down to an electronics market and get the little pieces you need for your next project. An amazing idea! I shop there all the time.

From the registered email address it appears highly likely that this really is somebody from Aliexpress. But their actual role in the company and their reasons for visiting us here is are unclear. Of course we’d appreciate a bit more transparency and clarity from the OP.

One word— SEO. (Wait, that’s not a word! :innocent: ) BLF ranks very high in a lot of Google searches, and a company’s website ranking can benefit if its products are linked to on a highly ranked site.

That’s good to know sb, thanks for confirming that  that in mind it can only be a good thing! :+1:
