Sofirn C01R deep red [sold out, discontinued]

Any other usage?
Itā€™s tempting and I might get it anyway and find use for it

I understand. Thank you for what you do. I should have checked more often. But since the start of the corona thing I have not been checking the forum as often as I wish.

When I chew cinnamon gum, I use a red flashlight to get that extra ā€œkickā€ of cinnamon flavor.

Look up red light therapy, there are supposed health benefits when using this wavelength of red light.

Well...you don't have to put on the red light... :-D

...apart from using it for "horizontal business" pleasures you could use C01R for:

  • low light applications like night-camping, cave explorations, stargazing...any scenario that should maintain your night vision capability and/or avoid attraction of nasty insects
  • ambient illumination in your bedroom / hotelroom / living room etc.
  • supporting your sleep quality when using as a nightstand light
  • seeking the way to the toilet at night without waking up your wife, mistress, whatever....happy wife, happy life :CROWN:
  • giving it away to friends as something special they would not expect in a keychain light 8^)
  • ... no particular reason ... because you just can :P

Thanks, everyone. Well I decide to get one myself. Want to explore those thing you guys mention. And also just because I can.

Barry was so kind to send me two new whitewall beamshots that he took with his smartphone camera. Unfortunately, it is more than difficult to get the same impression (tint, color rendition, actual and perceived brightness) from a picture as you would get with the naked eye. However, let's just consider this as some kind of appetizer before you receive your own lights. :-)

As soon as I receive this light I will do a review including a side-by-side comparison between C01, C01S and C01R as well as a tint comparison with a modded Sofirn SF14 or Wurkkos WK30 with XP-E2 red (625nm).

Picture #1: Low mode (Barry says this mode really dim and barely to catch with his smartphone camera). Maybe this could be ideal for preserving one's night vision when using in darkness.

Picture #2: High mode

Looks good!

Does anyone know where i can buy this with delivery to the UK?

Probably just from the official Sofirn website for now and maybe their AE store?

The official store as linked in the first post only ships to the US as far as i can see.
Their AE store seems to ship to the UK though, thanks! All iā€™ve got to do now is overcome my as yet unexplained phobia of AE.

Sofirn also has an eBay store. C01R and C01S are there for sale. ā€œStandardā€ shipping from China to the U.S. via SpeedPAK included in price.

Donā€™t know if they ship to U.K., thoughā€¦.

It ships to Australia too. There were a fair few countries in the list.

Not sure if the German Amazon warehouse also ships to the UK but it might be worth a try if you can wait until August 2020. Sofirn told me they will also sell C01R on Amazon. I suppose they mostly use their German warehouse for European customers but they also have domestic (Amazon) warehouses in Italy and UK already.

Thanks, but canā€™t see the C01R on there, just the S.

Thanks , where are you seeing that? The only shipping details i can see are ā€™Shipping costā€™ under which there is ā€™Please select the country you want to ship fromā€™, but when i click on it the drop down list is empty and thereā€™s a ā€™No optionalā€™ statement.

Edit: - Ohhh, turns out that if i select the number of packs i want i then get the full shipping list! So all sorted, thank you all for you help

Thanks. I had a look on Amazon.de but couldnā€™t see this light. I can wait though

Ah, I get the same ā€œNo optional!ā€ when I load the page and click ā€œUnited States viaā€

You need to select ā€œcolor: Pack of 1ā€ first, then click ā€œUnited States via Standard Shipping from Chinaā€ and then choose your country from the drop-down menu that pops up.

It may be a bug with the website. When you first load the page thereā€™s no item selected. It doesnā€™t seem to know what shipping option to use.

Thanks TimMc, had just figured out the same and edited my post  Though i was going a bit mental there for a moment.

Hi Marc, for Sofirnā€™s eBay Storefront, do an advance search by sellerā€™s user ID: sofirnlight
Both the C01R and C01S are still listed as of this moment. One can also contact the seller with questions. Best of luck!

Glad you worked it out!

Forgot about the eBay store.

I wouldnā€™t worry about AE. I havenā€™t had any problems with them. The search sucks but as long as you know which store you want to buy from then the rest is easy. Iā€™ve only had one faulty item that I had to claim through AE, it was very smooth and painless. For extra protection you can use PayPal, they charge a small fee but then you have added buyer protection with PayPal. I used to use PayPal, but now use a prepaid USD credit card to save a bit on the FX. No problems.

Anyone else notice the Sofirnlight website updated the images from a red C01S to what seem to be actual images of a C01R?
