Sofirn C01R deep red [sold out, discontinued]

The official store as linked in the first post only ships to the US as far as i can see.
Their AE store seems to ship to the UK though, thanks! All i’ve got to do now is overcome my as yet unexplained phobia of AE.

Sofirn also has an eBay store. C01R and C01S are there for sale. “Standard” shipping from China to the U.S. via SpeedPAK included in price.

Don’t know if they ship to U.K., though….

It ships to Australia too. There were a fair few countries in the list.

Not sure if the German Amazon warehouse also ships to the UK but it might be worth a try if you can wait until August 2020. Sofirn told me they will also sell C01R on Amazon. I suppose they mostly use their German warehouse for European customers but they also have domestic (Amazon) warehouses in Italy and UK already.

Thanks, but can’t see the C01R on there, just the S.

Thanks , where are you seeing that? The only shipping details i can see are ’Shipping cost’ under which there is ’Please select the country you want to ship from’, but when i click on it the drop down list is empty and there’s a ’No optional’ statement.

Edit: - Ohhh, turns out that if i select the number of packs i want i then get the full shipping list! So all sorted, thank you all for you help :slight_smile:

Thanks. I had a look on Amazon.de but couldn’t see this light. I can wait though :slight_smile:

Ah, I get the same “No optional!” when I load the page and click “United States via”

You need to select “color: Pack of 1” first, then click “United States via Standard Shipping from China” and then choose your country from the drop-down menu that pops up.

It may be a bug with the website. When you first load the page there’s no item selected. It doesn’t seem to know what shipping option to use.

Thanks TimMc, had just figured out the same and edited my post :slight_smile: Though i was going a bit mental there for a moment.

Hi Marc, for Sofirn’s eBay Storefront, do an advance search by seller’s user ID: sofirnlight
Both the C01R and C01S are still listed as of this moment. One can also contact the seller with questions. Best of luck!

Glad you worked it out!

Forgot about the eBay store.

I wouldn’t worry about AE. I haven’t had any problems with them. The search sucks but as long as you know which store you want to buy from then the rest is easy. I’ve only had one faulty item that I had to claim through AE, it was very smooth and painless. For extra protection you can use PayPal, they charge a small fee but then you have added buyer protection with PayPal. I used to use PayPal, but now use a prepaid USD credit card to save a bit on the FX. No problems.

Anyone else notice the Sofirnlight website updated the images from a red C01S to what seem to be actual images of a C01R?

A pleasant surprise was found in my mailbox today. Just nine days after the shipping notice from Sofirn, the little deep red light arrived today. For the price an absolute AWESOME little torch. Well packaged, two O-rings included and and even the detailed manual. I couldn’t be happier and will test it at my next telescope watch night. The spill is very even and I absolutely like the low-mid-high mode. The first will probably be enough for my purpose, high is pretty bright, even under daylight conditions. Once it’s gettin dark I will disco today! :wink:

A big thank you goes out to Lux-Perpetua, Barry and Sofirn. After the delightful LT1 now this little gem - I absolutely appreciate the fruitful cooperation between BLF and Sofirn (and of course spread the word)! :slight_smile:

Glad to see they’re starting to turn up! You’ll have to let us know what it’s like once it gets dark :).
Mine was shipped on the 27th May, but still hasn’t arrived :(.

Wow! I hope C01R has the red color shown in those pictures. It looks amazing!

This is the red anodization already known from C01 and C01S if I’m not mistaken. A more muted, darker red was discussed but eventually discarded.

It looks different than the pictures of C01S I have seen. This red seems a lot more saturated.

It seems that there are also new colors available for C01S. Black, red, blue, non-ano, orange, desert tan, and green.

Yes. But matte colors, as it was planned for the C01R, are not possible for Sofirn. Dunno why. They’re all glossy. Well, maybe it’s a different red, that would be nice.

I’m not the only one in Germnany who received the light today. In the taschenlampen-forum user the_holodoc posted some nice pictures that do it pretty much justice (its really hard to make a adequate photograph because the intensity isn’t properly reflected). I’m not sure if it is allowed to link - just google: taschenlampen-forum c01r and use the link in post #124. High mode indeed gets warm very quickly.

Barry also sent me these pictures and said this is the look that represents the actual body color of C01R as real as it gets. It seems they tried to make a red that is at least a bit more saturated and darker to get as close to „wine red“ as possible. What a nice surprise! I guess the result is really good.

Thanks for the credits and many thanks to all of you for your confidence in this whole idea of a deep red keychain light. Without your interest this light would not have come to existence.

My C01R is still en route, so you will probably have the great honor to be the first to share some impressions with us on BLF. :-)

I just read that this user measured following currents with an 1.45V AAA Eneloop battery and a Mastech MS8268 multimeter:

Low = 15mA

Medium = 105mA

High = 2.500 - 2.800mA :-O (no error with the decimal point)
