✌ FREEME - ASTROLUX FT03 Mini XHP50.2 (4200lm) / SST40 Anduril AUX LEDs USB-C 18650 Flashlight - ALIVE

Received mine today with the SS bezel. Overall it's impressive. Mine is the 5000K SST-40, might be my first 5000K SST-40, and I do like this LED's tint and beam in this light.

The AUX LED setup is a bit confusing but I think I understand what's going on. Besides the switch LED, there are 4 separate LED SMD's around the main LED and they cycle through 6 patterns of:

RED, RED/GREEN, GREEN, GREEN/BLUE, BLUE, BLUE/RED (no white as the manual says)

You can't stop the cycling, can't select a separate color and have it stick. The reason is it doesn't work like an Emisar light is because it's using the ATTiny85 MCU, not the 1634, and therefore doesn't have the I/O pins or memory to control that many LED's. The AUX LED blinking is probably controlled by the add-on AUX LED board, assuming it's a Lexel design (?).

You can't even stop the switch LED from blinking, so maybe there's a firmware mod as well? Dunno, I find it annoying - only option to stop it is by turning it all off.

Ooops! My Bad! 6 clicks plus click/hold toggles through solid color choices.

What? I can choose what colour I want with the aux leds and it stores it after removing battery etc

For my 5000K SST-40, on a VTC5D, I measured 9.05 amps (clamp meter), 1840 lumens at 30 secs (Maukka cal'ed), and 95 kcd.

That’s pretty decent. I got 1920 lm with the 6500K using a 30Q

I find it amusing how the manual states they achieved 4200 lumens with a 30Q (XHP50.2) ANSI, while I only got 3460

I'll use manufacturer's lumens at times, which is about 12% higher, least for the honest ratings.

I see this behavior in some other flashlights (some Sofirn, like SP32A or SP31v2.0 and also sometimes on the Convoy S2+ with XPL-Hi).
I haven’t gotten the FT03-Mini XHP50.2 yet so I can’t check.

I’ll need to double-check other XHP50.2 flashlights (SP33v2, SP33v3 or Convoy S11) to see if they also have this “yellow spot” in the center of the hotspot…

~

That’s strange. Like Funtastic mentioned, mine can also cycle the Aux LED colors or choose 1 color (or even the “Voltage” indicator color), much like the aux-LEDs of the Emisar D4v2.

I sold an SP33 V2 last night and while testing noticed the yellow but the FT03 Mini is most noticeable, only on a white wall though of course

Your sure it uses the Attiny85? I don’t think I’ve seen any pictures of the driver or the unique centering ring.

There’s nothing unique about the centering ring, doesn’t do any centering, the screws are holding everything centered, it’s just insulating the reflector

I honestly don’t know what Tom is talking about because I can change colors and have it save.

From manual

“Note: The button led wire is connected with green, so it will be on when aux led colors include green like yellow, green, cyan, white. The button led will be off when aux led colors are red, purple, blue.”

Tom, the button will only flash if you have it cycling the colors. Can you not change the colors at all? I do 6 clicks + click hold and it cycles through colors, release on the color you want, if the aux led flashes and you release, then it selects the cycling again.

I thought the centering ring had leds built into it.

Does the centering ring fit around the outside of the leds thereby not doing any real centering?
All those components are added on top of that custom mcpcb?

Ooops! My bad! Totally missed the 6 click plus hold, or as the manual says: "7 clicks but hold the last click". I do have problems with the high click count settings, guess because I'm old

So, must be a 1634 MCU in order to control all these LED colors.

Sorry Funtastic - thought you were kidding or something - wasn't sure.

If anyone has a driver pic, I’d love to check it out. Thanks.

No driver pic yet - did that though for the EC03.

Is this mini the first production light with the AUX LED's in a reflector? I can see more of these - it sure doesn't seem to effect the lumens or throw. The SST-40 beam does have some artifacts, but some is caused by the SS bezel on mine, and others are noticeable but not that bad.

Having the AUX LED's in a reflector is impressive! I know mods have been done before like this. I can see this happening in a lot more lights - it's great for mid size and small throwers, but also would be nice in single LED EDC's.

I noticed the price of the SS bezel went up - I paid $5 at the time, now it's $8. Not sure if there was an extra discount.

I paid 5 for the SS bezel and that is enough, 8 dollar is excessive. The aux leds in the smooth reflector indeed look particularly nice, they add a lot of bling to this light. :person_with_crown:

Could i get a code? I received an email during the pre order but never did make the purchase than

Sent.

interested. am i too late? coupon codes aren’t working for me @ Banggood for the light & acc.
