Sofirn C01R deep red [sold out, discontinued]

Would you mind sharing some „in situ“ pictures of your astrophotography session with C01R including a picture of Neowise? It would be great to bring deep red light to a broad audience.

no lightsaber in your pockets?

eBay says 40 sold, zero available

My package has been stuck in Hebron KY for almost a week now. Don’t hold your breath for any kind of pics from me. Heh heh! That’s a sure way to delay delivery and increase chance of cloudy weather!

Maybe there are other Comet photographers/C01R-users reading this and will post their success?

Signed,
Astro-photography and flashlight newbie

Yeah, but saber a bit green (540nm) it is. heh heh.

You’re welcome! c3/2020 f3 neowise on 07/19/2020 12:16 am CEST

Feel free to use it public domain. Filtering orange clouds on the horizon has never been so easy.

Cheers

You caught a shooting star  .

And here is another one:

Kind regards

Nice comet-pics, they are better than mine for sure!

I like the comet photos :+1:

Scottish weather being what it is, it’s been cloudy every single evening so far. I will be amazed if we get to see it from my town at all.

Yeah, mine’s been stuck in NJ since last Sunday. Newgistics, the state-side e-commerce courier that Sofirn is using, stated on their site that their volume is up significantly because of Covid. I’m in NC, and even e-commerce would usually be here by now from NJ. Oh, well. Just gotta wait.

Well, I wish for a C01S with Nichia E21A
:sunglasses:

Actually a dimmable thrower with 98cri would be perfect for lightpainting. :exclamation:

@the_holodoc
nicely done! Also Oly user here.

Got mine today in Austria and it’s a real beautiful small light.
Also got a C01S in the same shipment and the C01R is brighter than that light.

Here’s my pic taken from my driveway. I couldn’t use the C01R to fill in the foreground but I did use it for camera settings. Nice to have it.

Hey Lux, any chance Sofirn will shift the C01S to this three step driver when they sell out the other ones? That would be really nice.

Careful everyone. Just found out the head isn’t glued, just like the initial C01S batches.

Thank you guys for posting your fantastic comet pictures, with or w/o C01R! :THUMBS-UP: I have not been able to see the comet myself so far as mostly the sky was covered with clouds. Meanwhile, my C01R has arrived, too. I will of course also share my impressions here a.s.a.p..

BTW: I‘m happy to tell you that there are plans to launch another (hopefully) interesting EDC using deep red light. Please stay tuned... ;-)

I really hope they will soon adopt the new UI on the C01S driver (the one that runs SST20 4.000K 95CRI). So far, I have not received any news if and when this might happen. However, the next iteration of C01S with Nichia E21A is meant to be using the new 3-modes / 2-mode groups UI of C01R as it maybe uses the C01R driver designed for LEDs with very low Vf.

It is out of stock on ebay :frowning:

Ausgezeichnet! I will follow your discussion.

Does the driver fall out toward the battery?

What kind of glue should be used?

Here are a couple more pictures of the light:

Kind regards
Frederick
