What are your preferred tints for Sofirn C01S E21A?

No, they’re not doing tint mixing. Sofirn might only offer one colour temperature, but they might offer two as separate options. They’re apparently very unlikely to offer all three, so the poll is to find out BLF’s order of preference.

In your example, you’d be voting for them to offer lights with the option of a 2000K LED or a 3500K LED.

I believe the way the poll is set up will result in unintended consequences.

The poll should simply ask people which ONE tint they prefer most. The tints then can be ranked according to their popularity, and Sofirn can then decide to offer the most popular one or the most popular two (or even three) tints. People would then certainly be able to buy the most popular tint, and would also have the option of buying the second most popular tint if Sofirn decides to offer more than one option.

The way the poll is setup now, if the winning option is for two tints and the manufacturer only wants to make one tint, what happens to all those votes that voted for two tints? Are they just discarded and the winner is the more popular single tint option? It seems to not make sense, the way the poll is currently setup…

Problem is, we cannot have multiple votes. What should I do if I want either 3500 or 4500K? Or any other combinations of two tints. The way Thomas set this up allows counting individual tints and having multiple votes at the same time.

Yes,come on guys for 2000k,I think they will sell a lots.
Because there are not AAA 2000k lights on market

For everyone concerned, Clemence has in his E21 thread all the tints and colors. And no these are not green. We don’t talk about Cree here.

Please add cooler temps. I have enough incans...

If the option is to have 1 color temp it would be 3500k. If there is an option for 2, I would pick 2000k and 4500k.

I guess 4500/2000 will win, except 3500-lovers hide themselfs to attack in the last minute. Not likely.

Yes, green please. The body, I mean.

If it were possible to add a copper host to this LED that would be really cool ))

Yes but 2000k not available and it’s rare.
plus I search a ready made aaa light with this Led color to avoid melatonine suppression like tons of crappy cool/neutral white leds do

You are aware of C01R, Deep red?

Ghis thread is not for orange only colors....

Sorry don’t need monochrome red color now and E21A 2000k it’s not orange but unique rare beautifull warm tint with blue peaks almost absent

Thus far …

4500K - 62 votes
2000K - 53 votes
3500K - 38 votes

2000K is nine votes behind.

I really want 2000k. But I voted for 2000k + 4500k so we have more variety of tints.

I voted 4500. I wouldn’t buy one warmer than that.

I am interested in the 2000K and the 3500K but polls can be tricky. I voted just for the 2000K because I really want it to happen. I’ve got a bunch of flashlights at 2700K and higher. I want to experience the novel warmth of a 2000K flashlight!

Yeah it's similar for me. At this point if they were available I'd probably buy both 2000K and 4500K, but I really want 2000K to happen, too, so I voted for only that.

Polls are hard indeed. See, if I lot of people vote "2000K + 4500K" maybe Sofirn sees this and they think everyone who voted that would buy both, so maybe that makes them opt for producing both. Or they basically add them together and just produce the most requested one (4500K). But I bet a lot of people who voted for a "dual" option which includes 2000K really want that one to become reality as it'd be so unique.

Don’t know what Sofirn makes of it, but have a look at the interest list (link in OP). 2000K leads with 69 to 67 (4500K) preorders.

The intention of this poll is to find out what tint and what combination (if more than one tint is desired) would be most anticipated. So, if someone votes for 2.000K and 4.500K, this will be counted as interest in both tints. This method was only used because BLF's software will not allow multiple choice but only one selection to choose from. Now, if the poll ends up with lots of interest in all three tints, there's a better foundation to convince Sofirn producing more than only one version.

However, Sofirn still waits for Nichia (or their distributors) to respond to their inquiry. I really hope this won't take forever as patience is a virtue to many of us.

R9080 only.
I never liked cool white flashlights, particularly with EDC but since I tried a Clemence’s Jetusolis 6500K, I found that a very high CRI 6500K flashlight could be very usefull, not pleasing but sometimes very usefull. I not satisfied with R9050 flashlights since quite long, so even if I would be tempted by a 2000K flashlight, being only R9050, it will probably end in a drawer quickly compared to a 2700K (R9080) one.

I voted for 3500K + 4500K but would much prefer 2700K + 4000/4500K + 6500K (all R9080).

I voted for 3500K + 4500K but would much prefer 3000K (hopefully R9080).
