The included cell is a bit longer that normal unprotected 21700 cells.
If you want to use unprotected cells, you will most likely need to add a dub of solder in the positive terminal of the battery (or maybe a magnet in the back side).
Indeed a flat stabilization! As for your second question, I’ll have to investigate a bit more and come back to you

How do you attach the wrist lanyard? I don’t see a little hole on the end to use. There are some holes on the heat fins near the front but it’s uncomfortable to do it that way. Lanyard isn’t long enough for me to have it on my wrist and hold the light normally

It might be that the promotion was not just for BLF, maybe they used all their social media channels.
Anyway, i don’t miss my MS03, it only did 13000 Lm for 0,1 sec and immediately dropped.
IMHO, a light with three XHP70.2 LED’s needs considerable more mass to produce that output for any usable time. ATR only goes so far. I think this design would do much better in something the size of a Convoy L2.
Acebeam X45 has great perfomace with 4 x XHP70.2.
5000 lumens constant.
But is much bigger light.
