Thanks for sharing this. I was going to go with NW, but decided CW would be better based on your feedback. :+1: I’ve got 4 AAA flashlights already, but always good to have another backup. Also ordered a couple more as gifts. Do these come in the usual Thrunite thick cardboard box?
My only other Thrunite flashlight is the TH20. Really well made. Thrunite gives nice attention to detail with their products.
Better. The little Altoids tin, well, minus the hinge. Slip-on cardboard sleeve to keep the 2 halves from popping open, but yeah, the full tin, foamy thing to nestle the light itself, goodies-bag under, and papers over.
I had ordered a bunch of T1s from Thrunite years ago to give as gifts so I was curious and ordered a CW and a NW Ti3 v2 to check them out. The NW was as I expected, warm with a bit of yellow and orange, but my sample of CW was a bit warm and greenish and not neutral. Not terrible but tint lottery this time was not the best.
Ok ..I'm old so I remember the original thrunite ti two mode crusher in colors . They made both low high and ..firefly /high models .
They were $5 back then and still are great lights . I'd looked at these lights over the years and always thought I wanted the real titanium version of this light . Bought a bunch back in 2011 ..bought a bunch today.
Thanks thrunite / Great company ..Great lights ..Great deal .
I was pretty stoked to see the warehouse is in NJ. I was expecting delivery by Thursday. But suddenly tracking updated & it’s going to be today instead.
Received second light today.
I have seen the offer and ignored it as the lumen was low. After seeing multiple message on this thread, I give it a try. This light changed my opinion about lumen.
My third keychain order is Wuben K349 in Amazon for $8.53 including tax in CA. It comes with 14500 battery.
Any light I’ll be carrying around or at least using fairly regularly, I’ll scrub the threads clean (remove O-rings, too), all the way with solvent, just to get out any grit, then slather on some fresh lube.
Lights that are nicely lubricated right out of the box might even have nicely lubed grit suspended in the lube.
And at least strobe is nicely hidden away. Really gotta be determined to get to it.
Strobe can be useful. If you’re at an event with friends & get separated, turn on strobe and point slightly upward to avoid flashing in people’s eyes. Friends who are looking will easily spot you. I’ve done this a number of times.
Thanks again for your feedback on the CW vs. NW. I went with CW (got 2) and the tint is quite decent. Feels like it’s on the warmer side of cool (if that makes any sense). The machining and anodizing of the comparative Jetbeam Jet-U is better, but for about half price, you can’t beat the Ti3 V2.
The NW looked bad on a white wall and the CW was much better. THEN I walked outside… the NW made nature look much better and the tree trunks were easier to ID. So, it depends upon where you (or those you give it to) live and will use it. City, go CW… Country, NW gets my vote. Nice little light.
