Ok ..I'm old so I remember the original thrunite ti two mode crusher in colors . They made both low high and ..firefly /high models .

They were $5 back then and still are great lights . I'd looked at these lights over the years and always thought I wanted the real titanium version of this light . Bought a bunch back in 2011 ..bought a bunch today.

Thanks thrunite / Great company ..Great lights ..Great deal .

received today.
ordered on 24th.
excellent.

I was pretty stoked to see the warehouse is in NJ. I was expecting delivery by Thursday. But suddenly tracking updated & it’s going to be today instead. :+1:

Ordered 4 tonight in CW.
Deal still on.

Received second light today.
I have seen the offer and ignored it as the lumen was low. After seeing multiple message on this thread, I give it a try. This light changed my opinion about lumen.

My third keychain order is Wuben K349 in Amazon for $8.53 including tax in CA. It comes with 14500 battery.

Bad:

  • XPG2 (NW) is hideous
  • Clip impossibly tight to get on
  • Emitter not centered
  • Sharp edges on the tail
  • Threads are loud/dry

Good:

  • Short for AAA reflector
  • Cheap
  • Not glued
  • Comes with split ring
  • Drop ships from Amazon stock

Neutral:

  • L-M-H-L-M-H-Strobe
  • AR coated lens (probably bad tbh)
  • The middle mode might be regulated (good if true), high definitely isn’t

Any light I’ll be carrying around or at least using fairly regularly, I’ll scrub the threads clean (remove O-rings, too), all the way with solvent, just to get out any grit, then slather on some fresh lube.

Lights that are nicely lubricated right out of the box might even have nicely lubed grit suspended in the lube.

And at least strobe is nicely hidden away. Really gotta be determined to get to it.

Strobe can be useful. If you’re at an event with friends & get separated, turn on strobe and point slightly upward to avoid flashing in people’s eyes. Friends who are looking will easily spot you. I’ve done this a number of times.

Thanks again for your feedback on the CW vs. NW. I went with CW (got 2) and the tint is quite decent. Feels like it’s on the warmer side of cool (if that makes any sense). The machining and anodizing of the comparative Jetbeam Jet-U is better, but for about half price, you can’t beat the Ti3 V2.

The NW looked bad on a white wall and the CW was much better. THEN I walked outside… the NW made nature look much better and the tree trunks were easier to ID. So, it depends upon where you (or those you give it to) live and will use it. City, go CW… Country, NW gets my vote. Nice little light.

Curious if you order multiples, is postage charged (and delivered ) individually?

Tried ordering one of each in one order. No go on that.

Perhaps I answered my own question?

Gotta get a NW, for comparison.

The Jetbeam Jet-U has a much nicer beam, as well, because of the TIR; a very nice evenly lit circle.

You can order multiples, at least I did. But you still pay shipping for each even though they come in a single package.

Forget the word “free”. Think of it as, “6bux each delivered to your door in like 2-3 days”.

Definitely agree. The TIR does a wonderful job of homogenizing the beam. Range would be a little shorter, but for a personal mini EDC, throw isn’t the objective. The Jet-U has a wonderfully small profile. And the very dark brown anodizing is terrific.

The original Thrunite Ti was what got me introduced to modern flashlights and BLF as well. I think they were offering it for $5 that time. Ordered one CW with absolutely no need of a new light!

Just got the light in CW. It’s good, and I appreciate different levels on a small light.

There are really sharp corners on the feature used to hold the keychain ring. I think that may get to be a problem. It’d be uncomfortable in the pocket. It’s actually so sharp it’s uncomfortable on the hand.

sharp!

Unno, maybe without the keyring in there it’d end up poking you in all the wrong places, but with a ring in there, I don’t think anything would get close enough to the pointy part, would it?

If you carry it in your pocket with other things, you know the anodizing will wear. Might as well file that area down (round the edges) to your liking. It will feel better now and then the rest of the light will catch up later  .
