What blade did you EDC today?

Love the shade of purple on the QSP Worker. Looks awesome!

That looks fantastic. The purple is subtle but attractive and interesting.

I’m sliqutly wondering how the carbon fiber/fiberglass compound material on my Kershaw Chill and my diamond file would take the dye…

(who would have thought that grinding off the first layer would show the side of the weave)

Was this a sprint run? I’ve never seen a Chill with scales like that. Is it still 8Cr13Mov?

Is it possible to paint on Rit dye instead of dipping the scales in it? I was thinking of using frog tape, possibly cutting it into a pattern, tiger stripes or lines that get smaller as you go down the scale, just unsure if it would bleed past the tape or work at all once you dip brush in the hot mix…even a splotchy multicolor Jackson Pollock type application might be cool….er I have to many knifes that are black, one colorful wont kill me

There was never a Chill in a better steel afaik. I’d like one in Sandvik 14c28n for example, still budget but much better than 8Cr13/14MoV or D2, especially with Kershaw’s beloved bead blasting which even makes 8Cr rusty.

So no sprint run, just scales made by myself 4 1/2 years ago (as the timestamp says)

Excellent flipper on bronze washers, my slim Boker Urban Trapper would be more stable on bigger bronze washers as well.

Nice job!

Now you’ve got me thinking. Is there a good source for appropriate washers of various sizes?

Hey, black knives matter!

Thank you. Well, I don’t know, especially due to the fact that the Boker UT hruns on ball bearings and would need some fitting washers to fill that gap first.
It doesn’t matter enough to me to search for bronze washers.

I’d look for them on ebay - phosphor(ous) bronze washers or at shops like usaknifemaker.com

Today it’s an Artisan Cutlery Virginia. She’s a big one. 3.94” D2 blade.

Nice looking knife, except for the pivot screw swastika!

I think they meen for it to look like the Artisan Cutlery logo

Nice knife :+1:

As much as possible we should forget those guys that misused a Asian sign for the sun and prosperity and good luck.

+ a slew of other meanings depending on the cloture you focus in on, but those Germans once misusing it we should for get about, and only pull them out of the history books when someone need a scare.

Petrified Fish PF929 “Harlequin” :sunglasses:

Great looking knives those PF’s.

Nice! I ordered one with a fully coated blade on day one. I’ve just been playing the waiting game. I’m glad to see you got one.

Swabs , Chronovore: Thank you! I was having a hard time choosing between the full black washed and the dual tone version. Aesthetics won over practicality.
Fortunately this harlequin version solved my “which handle color should I go for?” problem.

Benchmade 555-1 with AWT scales.

Practiality? Seriously? You own like how many knives? Maybe not a Great Gross, but definitely a Small Gross.

Do you ever make your knives dirty or even scratch them?

In the beginning I liked stonewashed/blackwashed blades until I learned that on a user some battle scars make it look ‘real’.

And honestly, a well made satin grind isso much nicer to look at, not to speak about the fact that if a blade is available in satin/stonewashed the tumbled ones are usually the ‘B’ grade blades. Coating and tumbling is very good to hide imperfect grinds, I’ve seen that the best on my Kershaw/Emerson CQC-5K.
What cheap piece o’crap, I’m glad I got it in exchange for material instead for real money (except shipping).

But I admit, it’s looking great with leather handles.
