Help me find/buy an EDC pouch?

hodor - I have three of the Topo designs pouches, 2 in Olive and 1 in black.

I have used them for carrying 18650’s and a Zebralight SC64 Hi.

I haven’t used one of the Olive ones yet and suppose I could put it in the post to you for less than what I bought it for since I don’t use it.

But maybe you are set on black…

Treadlite gear UK based maker, quite lightweight hiker oriented but might have an option for you.

Does it have to be a pouch ? I personally have a Mountainsmith fanny pack holds all I need daily, aside from this year with the lockdowns from the rona in the summer months my fanny pack holds flashlight, extra batteries, wallet, battery bank and, phone quite easily.

Lots of good options there.

I agree Maxpedition Micro looks like the perfect size for pocket use, it’s surprising there isn’t anything similar.

Both the “multicam-pouches” and Treadlite gear look good and are made of similar materials, namely laminated materials designed for sails. I was kinda set on nylon though but these could an option.

@0oklight Thanks for the offer! Is it the Micro size? I was hoping for black or navy but could be tempted. I’ll PM you.

Not necessarily but that’s kinda where my research took me. I don’t need to carry that much with me so would prefer one or two small pouches I can just throw in my pockets or backpack. Still exploring all the options though.

The whole idea behind an EDC is that you will carry it every day, you dont think for a minute you will be carrying that entire pouch full of gadgets all day? Possibly in the car but not on your person.

I already have a big tech pouch. This is for other edc stuff, like flashlight, spare battery, keys and other small things that don’t go in the tech pouch.

Think of it as more of a pocket organiser.

I run one of these on each of my LBV’s…… :+1:

Just realized that this thread got double-posted, there are a few more comments in this one:

Check out 1TG (One Tigris). They make a bunch of cool pouches and are opened to new designs so you can submit your own.

My 2 cents.

Some months ago I was in search of a cheap “knockoff” of this Maxpedition Micro Organizer, on ebay.

To no avail. All equivalent pouches were bigger (don’t fit in a cargo pants’pocket), but much cheaper

eg. this one

But I also use this small “flashlight/medical” pouch (fits easily in a pocket)
https://www.ebay.fr/itm/Tactical-Scissors-Nylon-Pouch-Bag-Durable-EDC-Medical-Molle-Pouches/382306485803

I put a small flashlight, a (Swiss Army) knife, a pen, and some other tiny bits (money bills) in it.

EDIT: just found this one, looks nice and small enough

All in all, plenty of different pouches and new patterns appear often, you might find what you’re looking for!

Another option I’ve found at drug stores, is diabetic test carry cases. During my early days of vaping, I would carry spare gear in them in my cargo pocket.

I purchased this one from Molle Pouch Banggood I believe it is somewhat larger than the Maxpedition Micro but the price was reasonable.

I am not happy with the organization pockets, elastic straps- I keep in the glove box of my car .

All the molle and tactical pouches are too tactical for me! One Tigris have a few that are just about acceptable but I think the Maxpedition Micro is the front runner atm.

Really liking the Dango CA01 that will34 suggested in the duplicate thread. Bit pricey though!

DMadeBags Dopp Kits are pretty nice too but also pricey and not available here (as far as I know, not surprising seeing as it’s just one guy).

Surprisingly I managed to find some Topo pouches at a local shop for a good price so bought a few of those for now but will keep searching for my perfect pocket organiser.

I just purchased the following pouch on Amazon US, but it’ll ship from China via china post. will review it once it gets here and report back how the quality is. the price was certainly low.

Yes these ones can be found everywhere, very handy to have in your car for instance, or to add on a backpack

They were 2 dollars and change including shipping. reviews were mostly positive and the black one doesn’t look “too tacticool”. Let’s see how the quality is.

already bought a few rucksacks in the last weeks and I am blown away how much quality and gear you can get these days for a minimal expense.

Crazy cheap. I wonder how well they will hold up though?

I will report back here in this thread once the pouch gets delivered and reviewed. From what I can tell so far: the cheap outdoor gear is fine from what I have used so far for “regular” EDC use. They are not meant to equip a SWAT officer or a soldier who deploys on a tour.

But my various “tactical” rucksacks I recently bought are good enough for carrying my Macbook Pro, all my EDC gear, or support day trips on my mountain bike and even trips to remote Covid-safe office locations are fine. all the stitches and material used look good. The other buyers usually give 4-5 star ratings for items worth less than 10 bucks. I am impressed.

Whaaaat? I’ll take a dozen.

I got a few of those, black one’s standalone or hooked to my sling-bag (love molle…), and they’re generally quite good. Had mine a few years, no sign of wear, even. You’ll like it.

Searched, ordered a (last one) khaki one for 3bux, not bad. Good for meters, etc., to protect ’em.

There were a few vipons for Aocks bags for 6’n’change a pop. Just got a few days ago, also quite good.

On all these bags, the zippers are the weakest links. Either the pull-tabs are crap and break off, or the zippers are crap and they derail easily, or otherwise just go all to Hell. The rest of ’em (material, stitching, snaps) usually last forever.

I’ll buy these bags in bulk, because I stuff all sorts of things in ’em. TPMS tools, multimeters, OBD readers, bigger powerbanks, loose doodads (eneloops’n’chargers, etc.), etc. You can never have too many.

So… where ya get ’em for 2bux a pop?
