Andúril 2 coming to Sofirn - The general Sofirn development thread

Moon mode sub lumen and smooth ramping UI .Easy access for change Lens Red aux Leds and body color

I loved an edcable small sized headlamp. I can also use them as handheld light.

With nice color. My sofirn collection will grow lol

The SC31 Pro looks very interesting.

I’m waiting for Anduril V2, the sooner it’s implemented the better

Ahh… I tried to wait! :person_facepalming:

Mine just shipped, fingers crossed it doesn’t take 3 months to get here

Will Sofirn consider to sell a diffuser for the SP36?

Also interested in a diffuser for the SP36…

I still think the Sofirn C8F with LH351D and 2700K/4000K/5000K/ would be a great flashlight with Anduril. The proprietary ramping is ok, but with Anduril this would really become my daily driver.

Easy mod - the C8F is an easy light to mod with a driver replacement - I've modded a few. Actually one I modded back in Nov 2018 with 351D's 4000K 90 CRI from MtnE. With spring bypasses, it draws 17.8 amps from a 40T, does 3310 lumens at 30 secs (calibrated), and 33 kcd.

@Tom E Sounds great, could you tell me where to buy the Anduril driver?

I reflow them myself from OSHPark driver PCB's. Dunno if Lexel sells them or not, for the C8F.

This is a driver I used for one of the C8F's. It's a standard 17mm size:

That light has a side e-switch and a tail clicky, yes?

I’d recommend enabling the START_AT_MEMORIZED_LEVEL option for it, if you don’t mind losing the factory reset function. Because this makes the tail switch work as a momentary mode. The side switch still does everything else as usual, but it’ll save the last-ramped level and automatically start at that brightness whenever power is connected. So the tail switch then gives it a tactical-style momentary function.

Nice! Darn, was wondering bout that. I did a couple pwr switch lights and didn't realize. A Nitenumen TK35 has a pwr switch as well - on that one, I made the LED wires long so can easily re-program

The C8F also has a lit switch. If I can get the switch LEDs to work at all with the new driver, I was wondering: Is there a good (read: easy) way to turn off the blink Anduril does when power is connected?

If I could figure that out, it’d be reason to put Anduril on my L6, too. I may be getting a bit ahead of myself though, I haven’t touched C/C in about ten years and my flashing hardware doesn’t arrive until checks notes technically today, by 9PM…

I wanted to note, on my 21700 version C8F, the driver is roughly 21mm (actual measured dimensions were ~20.8mm, and my “21mm” mountain driver came in around 21.4mm and would not have quite fit without filing).

That's weird bout the 21 mm - I'll have to check. I don't have notes on all the C8F's I modded, but I commonly use 17, 20, 21, and 22 FET+1 OSHPark drivers.

Yes. Enable the START_AT_MEMORIZED_LEVEL option.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but would Sofirn be willing to make the SP70 with the SBT90.2? They could name it the SP90.2 :D, It already preforms great with the XHP70.2 and I bet it would be amazing with the SBT90.2. Just a thought. Its rated throw is 687m, could it reach 1000+ meters using the SBT90.2? Just thinking out loud

It would require changing the gaskets (SBT90.2 is considerably bigger), the reflector hole and the driver. SP70 uses an orange peel reflector and so far I did not see a smooth reflector version except for some prototypes. I don’t know how much more kcds were measured compared to the OP reflector. Moreover, I have some doubts that 2x 26650 in series will deliver sufficient continuous currents of way more than 18A. Sofirn would need to change it to 2x 26650/21700 in parallel anyway as it’s a 3V LED.

The large body might seem likea good fit for a large LED but it’d probably double the price of the SP70, right? Those SBT’s are dang expensive!
