Probably worth being careful with KGT/Flashaholic’s measurements. Not sure if you recall things from a couple years ago with the KGT light box, but long story short, their measurements tend to differ significantly from others here. Maybe there’s someone with a set of maukka’s calibration reference lights?

Then again, anyone with a tube-style integrating device will tend to have higher numbers for throwers, due to the nature of the measurement tool. Accurate measurements are hard.

However, I agree that the numbers given sound a bit high. Available data on the emitter suggests that ~6000 lm is probably unrealistic even for bare-emitter test results, much less out-the-front output.

That’s an unusual revision to use… it only ever existed as an intermediate revision on a dev branch.

The most recent right now is fsm r485. I don’t think it has any major updates which would affect the SP36 though… just an improvement to thermal behavior in r472.

Otherwise, the next major update is Anduril2, which still needs a lot more testing before considering it for production use.

Agreed, the only way to be sure about the actual output is to compare TS30S with some similar lights like FT03S, XT45 II or NI40 in Sofirn's laboratory. Or...we wait for a TS30S prototype to be tested by someone who has both these lights and some tools to measure lux and lumens.

Thanks for the advice. I check with Mark to see how r485 can be implemented. I am not sure if Wurkkos would be willing to test Andúril 2.0 with their TS30S prototypes but maybe this could turn out to be beneficial for both sides. :-)

Yep! Soldered bonding did tear off slowly, bcos of twisting the tailcap frequently…but looking closer, the position of soldered blob are not meant to provide direct contact to battery but to the below of the top level of the spring. Even the solder blob completely eroded but stop at the top of the spring, there will be left some remained solder blob that still attach with the wire below of the spring.

Nevertheless, still not a big deal. Double spring still fav of the mass bcos it look so gripped and modern. People will not get it regard internal resistance anyway.

You want to avoid having a spring bypass, it’s unreliable further down the road

Anduril driver, a nice big strike bezel like the smaller one on my Klarus XT11GT and sporting a SBT90,2? Sounds like fun to me  The dimensions are almost that of the NI40, Head 53mm length 153mm. How well will this handle the rapid heat produced by the SBT90.2? If it can handle turbo for 1 minute or so I would definitely be interested in one. I say add more mass to the head for better heat control or something different that no one else is doing. I would rather it be heavier to handle the heat then it be lighter and only hold turbo mode for 15 to 30 seconds. Can’t wait to see some more accurate numbers on this light. BTW, Who is Wurkkos? to many flashlight companies now lol.

BTW did I mention, Very interested, looks good :+1:

Get the SBT90R red beam finally will update the testing result soon  it is a really crazy and expensive red LED :person_facepalming:

any update?

I'm interested in one red one.

Update:

TS30S and TS30R are delayed in order to put some priority on some other new flashlights being launched in the near future. I hope I can get some more news anytime soon. Thanks for being patient. Stay tuned...

Due to low interest / demand in TS30R and disproportionally high costs for SBT90-R, Wurkkos is looking for an alternative emitter. They have found an interesting LED at significantly lower costs which could be almost as powerful as SBT90-R but with a dominant wavelength of 614nm (amber, i.e. "orange" light color). Let's wait and see what their testing results will be.

Not too good for hunting though, needs to be closer to 660nm

I agree with you. But Luminus SBT90-R costs about $ 57.00 per each. That drives the sales price of TS30R into regions that only few customers will be willing to spend. After talking to some resellers Acebeam's K30GT or K75 using SBT90-R are so called shelf-warmers with veeeery few sold items so far. As much as I would have loved Wurkkos to build this light, there is a too high risk they will never meet break even in selling it. SBT90-R would be around 625nm dominant wavelengh which is what I call "standard red" but far from deep red.

The alternative LED they may take into consideration is called Osram Ostar Projection Power LE A P0MQ which can be driven up to 10A with an output of approx. 1,400 lumens. This is really close to SBT90-R but at a lower current. 614nm amber colored light will be nice to cut through fog as there's significantly less backscatter at this wavelength.

definitely interested in that TS30S :+1:
( without this dandelion engraver Bezel )

I don’t have an SBT90 light yet. Don’t like any of the currently available lights, but this one looks perfect. I hope it gets released soon.

Any news?

If I want to find someone to help me test my flashlight, which buddies should I look for? Need who live in USA

Production of TS30S is scheduled to start in about two weeks, as far as I am informed.
