ASTROLUX MF01 Mini - common issues thread

Mateminco is the manufacturer, Astrolux is Banggood’s brand name.

And what has that got to do with anything ?

Aren’t I able to chip in? You said it was Astrolux that shipped the light even though there was an issue. I was just simply stating that Mateminco is who didn’t do the testing, not Astrolux.

How can I order these? I am very interested in obtaining at least one of them to try and many more once I see how well it works. Please any help on how to get the brass heat sink would be very much appreciated.

Hello,

My MF01 is still in delivery so I cannot look inside.

If someone with this flashlight would be willing to remove the battery tube and un-screw the two driver PCB screws then the board can be lifted for a quick picture.

If there is a metal ledge below the board then we can engineer our way round this issue. If there is no ledge then the problem is much harder to solve.

We need to know if the designer left a ledge on the inside of the tube.

Thanks.

“How can I order these?”

At the moment you can’t, as no one is manufacturing them.

I posted a question on the Bangood website asking if the manufacturer is including the driver heatsink with new lights (it’s rumoured they are), but no one has answered as of today and the question has been up for a while. Astrolux have a Facebook page. You could try and send them a message and ask the same question. The other option is to find a machine shop and have a batch made….

Go onto AliExpress and find the Mateminco page, message them since they’re the manufacturer

Thanks but I already know that. I assume most people do.

It does not change anything, the light is half-baked, it says Astrolux on it and most people posting in this thread purchased from Banggood. Therefore the criticism is directed there, not upstream.

Although Astrolux is merely a “brand” it does not resolve them of their responsibilities.

I’m mentioning this because most are emailing banggood and not asking Mateminco, they have an AliExpress store and are very responsive. Banggood often don’t know a lot as to the status of their lights.

I’ve sent a message to Mateminco via AliExpress. If I receive a reply, I’ll post back.

If anybody does message Mataminco the model number of their version is called the MT07. You might get a quicker response.

Mateminco replied to me.

All new MT07 lights will come with a brass heatsink for the driver board. He didn’t say if MF01 lights would. I’d order from Mateminco if you want to be sure as Bangood don’t seem to know.

Search for ‘Mateminco Store AliExpress’ and Google will take you there.

It’s not possible to order just the brass heatsink from him (I did ask).

If anyone has an MF01 mini, I’d still be interested to see what’s below the driver board……

So I cannot get one for the MF01 Mini? Anyone still making these? I would love to buy at least one. You name the price.

But according to the above post they said it is not possible to just get the plate. Let’s hope Bangood can make them available if Mateminco isn’t willing to.

Everyone who bought one of these - whether branded Astrolux or Mateminco - should get the heatsink for free. They made a product with a design flaw that 10 minutes of testing would reveal.

Sorry, I thought he said they would sell it.

They can say it’s not a flaw. How can you prove it’s a flaw? The light works as described. They never specified a run time using 7135 only. So calling it a flaw is just a persons opinion. It seems to be a common opinion and an add-on piece was made to make it better. So they are not under any obligation to send out a bunch of plates for free.

Of course they are not “obligated” to do it. And of course they won’t actually do it. They can say whatever they want.

I am talking about right and wrong, maybe you are aware of this concept? They messed up and sold a piece of junk, and it was up to members of the community to figure out what was wrong and to fix it … at not-inconsiderable expense. Now they copy that fix for new lights but do absolutely nothing for the thousands of customers who already bought it.

If they had any concept of right and wrong, any respect for the customer, or any pride in the quality of their work, they would send these heatsinks out to anybody who wanted one. But you are right, they won’t, because selling crap and not standing over it is the Chinese way.

I guess you should be looking at the cheap prices and compare to the big brands. Sometimes these things do happen, at least it wasn’t an expensive issue. Annoying yes, but for a cheap manufacturer to send out free parts is a big ask.

No such thing. It’s all subjective. Like you said, it’s a concept. Kind of like veganism. Is it right or wrong to eat meat? Different people have different ideas on the subject.

It is nice to see them trying to make improvements on their product, though.

You sound a bit racist when you say the “Chinese way” as if that whole group of people think the same way. You are on a slippery slope with that kind of talk. BLF is an international forum and we have members from all over the world. Let’s keep things civil.
