Rosy!(ish)/Neutral - Manker E02 II (Possibly FA3?)

Lukehale, if possible can you post some beamshot pics of the SST-20 in comparison to your other lights? I’ve generally gotten very green tints in my SST-20s from Convoy and Sofirn, and my first one with a nice tint was my recently obtained D4v2. I’m generally wary of ordering SST-20s lights, unless I can verify their tint bin first.

I would consider my Nichia 219B SW45k light as very rosy and though I like the tint on my D4v2 I wouldn’t classify it as rosy. I’m also on the groupbuy for the MC13 and E14 III muscle combo, and would be interested in the SST-20 variant if it has a nice tint.

Ordered!

available on amazon.com now

Ordered one, be here Sunday.
Thx

The tint does look good in this video

I ordered one from Amazon and will test it with a spectrometer. :sunglasses:

It’s IS good (for SST-20)

NiMH low / turbo

Li-ion low / turbo

Wow!

Just received it and it is smaller than the original E02 in every aspect.
Magnet pull is not as strong, may very well be same magnet but the old one has the magnet mounted externally which gives it an advantage.
Regardless, strong enough to hold upside down/side.etc.

The low at lowest level when using AAA eneloop is so low you have to get it near your eye in daylight to see if it is on.
Probably want to physically lock out when if stored in a room that doesn’t get used when pitch black or never get real dark as it could be easily left on that Cats Eye mode and create a slow drain issue.

Changes mode from med to high by holding button and it switches rather fast, if you continue to hold it will oscillate up and down.
Quick click for on-off, hold for Moon, double click for Turbo.
No weird engineer mode, beacon, etc.

Tint is very nice as noted by the OP.
Hold it’s own against my original E02 with the Nichia.
Will really be able to test this evening in dark bedroom.

Clip has only one grove for mounting.
New version rides much deeper in pocket, also new is the metal button switch so you will not have to worry about the rubber wearing away.

All in all, call this one a Keeper and a Winner.
Great job Manker!

And yes I paid full price for this, so no artificial fanboy review here.
Later,
Keith

Its a neat light.

A low mode would be nice (firefly to mid is a big jump)

There is no delay for presses so going to turbo blinks the light off very briefly (annoying)

Everything else is great

Sorry for the lack of update/responses from me so far, but I’m glad that my eyeball tint estimation is at least pretty good! I’m pretty excited about this light, I ordered another from Amazon (first was direct from Manker), and I might get more.

In the first version of the E02, more than 20 brightness levels could be adjusted in low mode. Can I adjust the low mode in the second version of the flashlight ?

How reliable is the tint of Manker lights? From the clearance I got two E02 with 219C LEDs. They are very different.

Is the tail magnet removable?

Yes

I have one coming on Wednesday from Amazon. Had to order the headband separately from Manker (doesn’t seem like my current headbands would fit this little guy).

Looks like a wonderful light. I’m really looking forward to it. Will probably stash it and the headband in my daily carry backpack.

Thanks for the write-up!

Updated OP with additional AAA runtime test, in progress.

Thank you for the review.
Would you mind having a beam shot comparison? Just curious how much rosy of this SST-20. I have a couple of 4000k-5000k and 6500k SST-20 but none of them are rosy. :person_facepalming:

I have no experience doing beam-shots, so I can’t make any promises yet, but I am certainly going to make an attempt at it when I have time.

Updated runtime for AAA, as well as “impressions” of second E02 II received from Amazon.

TLDR: Indistinguishable tint quality

It’s not rosy but it might appear as such next to higher Duv light. Most indoor and ambient light is above BBL in most peoples houses so by comparison this light very near to BBL is pleasing tint but not this overly rosy sw45k look people chase.

I find 9080 Leds with Rosy tint therapeutic for humor when gray days come in winter.
Hope they will be more popular and easy to find
