I will have SP36, do I need a Sofirn BLF LT1 latern?

Wondering what your lantern experiences have been regarding using a dedicated lantern like the Sofirn BLF LT1 vs. modding some kind of diffuser for the Sofirn SP36? I wouldn’t get the tint variation available on the LT1, which is a bummer. For table top use (at home during outage, on a picnic table, etc), it seems like a diffuser over the SP36 would function pretty well, but for inside the tent, I haven’t seen any good hanging solution that makes the SP36-with-diffuser work well.

Any thoughts on maybe usecases I’m not thinking about that would nudge me towards dedicated lantern?

You will WANT the lantern, and it won’t stop there!

Enjoy the ride…

Edit: I have both SP36 and the BLF lantern, and years before the BLF lantern, I already have other branded lanterns, a Fenix and then the Zanflare, unused!

Stop, you’re not helping!

…but,but…we are surrounded by enablers!

Unno, I got a few of the old Zanflare lanterns that go from WW to CW and everything in-between, so I never felt the need for a new one. And I use other lights to burn down moribund AA and AAA alkaleaks, using ceiling-bounce.

So… get one? Depends on whaddya wanna do wit it.

I want to hold it in my hands and be with it. I think that’s really it. But also the feeling like there will be one day a situation where I want a super warm lantern and I don’t have one. Or want to hang a lantern on a rope and all I got are tail-standers.

Add a lanyard to your SP36.
