So Vinh is measuring 600lm… the best I can get is 639lm to 650lm at turn on cold, even with a FW3 driver stepping up the top of the ramping… so where do they get 950lms and in his Video he states 1000lms?
I can’t tell you how many times I tested, charged up, retested, fiddled with my lumen tube, etc when testing these two lights. They really highlight the differences that can show up in a non-professional lumen measuring device when looking at pure throwers vs pure flooders. I eventually tweaked my setup enough (getting diffusion just right) to where I’m now more comfortable dealing with these differences.
tl;dr: I feel like Manker’s numbers are a bit on the “optimistic” side. High quality lights overall though. Read more:
Probably better to judge lights like this based on amp draw and throw and derive lumens from that.
Vinh having known 15% too high throw seems absurd cause that is easier to reproduce than lumens? I dont think any tube can do all combinations of mules to throwers reliably.
