I found my EDC! - Tank007 E06 in black!

I'm at work, so I can't post photos. Instead I will post a couple links to this light.

Tank007 E06 at Dealextreme

Same light at Manafont

I have never carried an EDC, because I do not like stuff hanging off me, such as flashlight holsters, or knives. I don't like stuff in my pants pockets unless it's a wallet or keys. It's just me...

I got this light on a whim, from Manafont and I used my reward points to get it. I didn't think much of it, till it showed up today. WOW!

I am really pleasantly surprised of the fit/finish. The ano is good and the fit is excellent. Threads are better than some higher priced lights and with just a touch of light oil and they are smooth as can be. The knurling makes it easy to hold and take apart. The chrome clip is a nice touch.

It has a glass lens. Yes, I said glass. I was amazed at that. The reflector seems to be plastic, but really, on a light this tiny, the reflector is so small, it wouldn't matter. I do not know what the led is. It's not a cree, but I haven't seen one of these leds before and I'm not up on them, so I don't know.

I will say that the beam is really nice. The spot is not as large as I would have thought, seeing as how short the reflector is. Nice spot, very nice smooth spill, with no rings or artifacts. I'm impressed with how much light it puts out, just enough for me, not too much and not too little. It does not have "modes". It's on/off only, but I am old school and don't like modes anyhow. "A flashlight is supposed to just turn on and off by god". (OL quote).Tongue Out

The clip is right at the top end, so the light fits flush in the pocket. It takes 2 AAA batteries. I have two Alkalines in it now, but I will be carrying NiMHs with it. It unscrews in the middle and you slide one battery in each end. It's just the right length for a shirt pocket.

This is the light I have been looking for and it will be my EDC for as long as it lasts, which I imagine will be a good while. I believe it is also made in Red or Blue? Red for sure, Blue I'm not sure about. (I will be getting a Red one too, if I can find it).

If I had to fault anything, it would be the switch. It feels a little too stiff and I would say it's the cheapest part of the light.

I can't wait to get another one and put an XM-L U2 in it.Wink

Congratulations on finally finding an EDC you like, Old Lumens. Enjoy!

Now that you are giving an EDC a try,I hope you find plenty of uses for it.

have you tried Easward YJ J09 ? :)

This is my edc light. Bought about 4pcs for me and a lot for gifts. Put it every bag with Energizer AA lithium inside for long life :). This is the smsllest and the brightest light I've ever seen in this size. Size is comparable with most AAA lights.

I also have other bigger EDC, like UF-2100, or C8 in car, but Eastward is very good for its size!

SurprisedNOoooooo, I’m Not going to look at the link!! Innocent

No I'm not, I'm not, I'm not...................

Oh, that's a nice looking light!Laughing

That light makes a half decent Kubotan also if ever needed......

Congratulations on finding an EDC .

I too carry a 2AAA penlight as my edc. My current fav is a Pelican 1920. I have the single AAA version of your 007 and it is decent but doesn’t really compare to the quality of the Pelican or Streamlight lights. They are only a couple of bucks more but are well worth it.

About-damn-time !

I also believe the Pelican or Streamlight lights are better quality, but they sit up out of the pocket.

The reason I took the Tank, was the clip. It sits right up at the end of the light, so that when the light is in a pocket (button down flap, guard pockets), you can't see or notice the light is there. It's totally covered, due to the flush fit in the pocket. That's a requirement. Nothing showing except a clip, for lights, pens, etc.

Carrying a sample with some of your custom touches will be a sweet selling assistant. Will be interesting to see what you do for yourself.

I carry this flashlight in my handbag, it is attached to one of pen holders in by bag. I have removed the extension tube and use with one 10440 battery.

I love my E06 I use a 10440 in mine also. If you want more throw the TK703 is almost identical but has more throw.

This clip is also super useful for the little tanks if you can find them in stock someplace.

Makes me glad I found this forum...good for getting my flashlight fix and not breaking the bank!

Give it 6 months, matey..

It's only budget on a per light basis. It is most assuredly is not a budget hobby generally speaking. Your first cheep light is just a gateway light.

Will it take a protected 10440? Thanks.

Jerry

The Protected Trustfire TR-10440 do not fit. I had 2 with bad protection circuits so I popped them off and they fit now.

Im really surprised that being a member here you dont edc a flashlight......congrats on finding one that suits your needs.

Yeah, Streamlight/Pelican are better, but... have you tried ITP A3? Should be much brighter. The only thing is that model is twistie.
