Sofirn SC31 PRO, New Anduril Flashlight

Thanks. I missed the size difference in the specs. I’ll wait for mine and see how easy it is to mod before ordering any parts.

They’ve offered to change other orders so maybe it’s best to message the seller directly.

Just received my SC31Pro in the mail.

Took some detailed pictures if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the pictures! Looks very nice. Seems it has smooth reflector, I thought it’s orange peel.

I have read your thread about Sofirn IF25A. I really like your review/overview/observation . It’s like a semi-long-term review with details of actual usage of the flashlight.
I’d like to hear/read your opinion on SC31 Pro both the 6500k and the 5000k later when you receive them and use them.

Yup, I have contacted again the Sofirn AliExpress seller/store. Let’s see how it’ll turn out, hopefully tomorrow I’ll get the response.

I’m very glad too that Sofirn producing more Flashlights with USB-C charging. Hopefully other manufacturers catch up with that.
I’ve been using convoy s2+ for about three years.
Then i bought convoy BD06, it has built-in charger (with little adapter attached to its side switch, and micro USB cable connected to that adapter for charging), I’m very happy not needing external charger to charge it, it’s very practical.

I think Sofirn SC31 PRO with USB-C port is even better, charge directly no need any adapter.
And I also want to try Anduril UI, from what I’ve read it’s a pretty amazing UI .

I’m glad to see they finally made a good change in the SC31 UI. I would buy one if they could now just shorten the body a little; something like an 18650 version of the IF25.

Smooth reflector and it is also shallower. I would describe the beam as almost identical to the SST40 version of the Convoy S2+.
As you probably saw in the album I was able to fit a TIR optic.

(Edit for spelling and grammar)

I think it’ll be interesting to see convoy making a version of S2+ with USB-C charging. Call it S2+C ?? :sunglasses: . Has anybody contacted Simon discussing something about it    .

I’m sorry for referring to S2+ several times, it’s my first experience with real flashlight.
I don’t mean to be convoy fanboy specifically or anything like that. I’m a big fan of budget-flashlights-with-high-quality, doesn’t really matter which brand specifically , all brands as long as it’s a good & trusty brand with good, trusty, reliable and fun products, and affordable   .

Thanks so much for sharing those pictures. It’s nice to see detailed pictures like that.

Also thanks for the description of beam comparison with Convoy S2+ SST40 version.
I’m also ordering Convoy S2+ SST40 (5000K).
It’ll be interesting to compare them.

Not only SC31 Pro.
C01S has similar situation. There are two “versions” of C01S, with identical specs (both have Low-High modes, not High-Low) , with very slight difference in price. I ended up ordered two pieces, one of each “version”/listing , with different colors, I’m really curious to find the actual difference between the two, if any (aside from the colors) .

SC31 Pro now also available/can be ordered with 5000K SST40.

Glad I could be helpful :+1:

I DO wonder how hot these new SC31 Pro are going to be though. I didn’t think the USB charging would be such a game changer for me too- but I find myself using my USB charge strip daily (especially with my headlights I’ve been using out in the garden at night- pickin’ squash bugs  I’m looking forward to the 5k!

What are the dimensions of the optics that you’ve installed?

And the tint does not look that cold. It looks a bit yellowish on the picture.

Do you think this light can fully replace the SP31 V2.0? It is shorter (by 1.5 cm), lighter (by 12 g), much brighter (2000 instead of 1200 lm) and includes USB-C-charging, for the same price.

The picture with the TIR is in moonlight mode. It’s definitely 6500K in real life.

I have more pictures in this album.

The optic is the ubiquitous 20mm optic used for Convoy S2+ and alike.

Stock lens, reflector, gasket.

Pebbled TIR optic.

WARNING!!! Try this at your own risk. My led died. I think we can safely assume I did it while screwing around. Maybe the optic, maybe something else. I’ve since replaced the led with a 5000K sst40 and put the reflector back in. Everything seems fine now.

I’m in same situation. I might’ve even given in to the tint if it the Sofirn UI wasn’t HOLD-FOR-OFF. But Anduril might make this good enough for a inexpensive light.

Yeah, ditto what BFL-L mentioned. I like your notes on your experience with the IF25A. I got the 4k tint, but after reading your comments, I kinda wish I got the 6k tint for the lumens. They don’t list the lumens for the 4k tint, so I’m wondering if it’s anywhere close to 3800 lumens? Mine is still in the mail - I didn’t know how long Sofirn online store takes to ship these, seems like ships from China.
